All of our married children spent fabulous honeymoons in #188. I so enjoy escaping there to continue the memories and relax in its beauty and comfort.
Owner purchased this Condo in 1980
Why Owner chose Kahaluu-Keauhou
The weather and beauty of the Kona Coast on the Big Island with all its diversity on ocean and land is spectacular. #188 in the Surf and Raquet Club is best located, and the ammenities of the Club outstanding.
What makes this Condo unique
I enjoy the ocean right behind #188. I enjoy seeing, hearing, smelling, and feeling it. I love the whales, canoes, and sunsets. I take the short walk to excellent snorkeling to see colorful tropical fish and sea turtles. I also walk to the shopping center and movie theater and from there have taken the trolley to Kona. My kids have biked to Kona. One of my favorite walks is to the bay with kayaking and charter boat scuba, snorkeling, and fishing adventures and circling back to the Surf and Racquet Club to relax by the pool.

Convenient, beautiful location
The place is far enough of city center and yet close to everything you need. The racket club is very well maintained, the townhouse was clean and met our expectations. It was a very good experience and we would definitely go back there.
My husband , 2 kids , and I stayed at this property on February 22 - March 2nd. We had a fantastic stay. The condo and pool were great!
We just returned home from spending a week at this property with our son, daughter in law and grand daughter. The property and location was perfect. The frig. quit while we were there and the owners were over the top in getting us a replacement and seeing to it that we had ice, ice chest and everything we needed to continue our vacation without a hitch. Owners were wonderful. The only thing I would add is bring your own snorkel gear. We were not able to secure a car for the first few days, sold out in Kona but we could walk to the grocery store and everywhere else we needed to go.
Would Definitely Stay Here Again!!!!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this oceanfront condo. The unit was perfectly equipped and comfortably furnished, we had everything we needed to make it home for 2 weeks. It's in a great location, close to shopping, movie theater, and post office in a very quiet, gated community. It was easy to get to the main highway and travel to any part of the island yet we were far enough away from the hustle of Kailua-Kona.
The views of the ocean are spectacular. We kept the windows open at all times to allow for a very pleasant ocean breeze which allowed us to keep the unit very comfortable, the owners also provide a standing fan which really helps when the humidity and temps are high. Ceiling fans in all rooms made sleeping extremely comfortable at night. One of favorite spots was the Lanai; we pulled the outdoor table out to the edge of the patio, ate breakfast there every morning and enjoyed our evening wine and pupu before going to dinner.
The condo is not fancy or ultra-modern but had all the conveniences of home. The place was clean and the grounds extremely well maintained. There is a lovely pool a very short walk from your front door which was great for cooling off on the days we hiked. The owners were extremely responsive when the dishwasher stopped working and had the issue repaired as quickly as possible. They were very receptive to input and ways to improve our stay. They were an A+ with respect to customer service. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful Ocean View
My 2 daughters and my son-in-law stayed in this wonderful condo for a week in March, 2017. We had a great time sitting on the back lawn watching the ocean waves and the evening sunsets. The condo was well-equipped and very comfortable. We had one little snag. Home Away did not have correct information on obtaining a key for the condo. We found 2 very helpful ladies who knew the owners and helped us contact them to get the information we needed. The owners were wonderful and accommodating and even sent us flowers on our return home for the inconvenience. I would definitely stay here again.
We spent a week at this property in Feb 2017 and were blown away by how close it is to the ocean! It's in a amazing location with a sweeping view of the west coast - a relaxing get-away from the busier tourist scene in Kailua-Kona. We always looked forward to getting "home" in time to see the sunset from the lanai. The surf was pretty rough and loud crashing on the rocks and we actually had to close our bedroom window to be able to sleep at night, (well worth it). The place was clean, cozy and comfortable for 4 of us. The only downside we experienced was the ants that were inside, especially in the kitchen. But this was our fault...We learned to put everything away in the fridge, which kept them to a minimum. This location is also within walking distance to a local shopping center and a Sam Choy's restuarant, that has a good happy hour.
We would definitely consider returning to stay here again in the future.
Tennis (three lighted courts on site with resident tennis pro), Local Live Theater, Live Music, Nearby (walkable) shopping center with restaurants, grocery, cinema, post office and shops.
Swimming in club pool, or at walkable beaches where snorkeling is the best.
