Far Niente, from an Italian phrase that romantically translated means “without a care.” Here at Villa Far Niente you’ll enjoy the perfect tropical beach vacation in a recently renovated 2-story villa condo. New to the Sapphire Beach rental market, Villa Far Niente is located in the coveted E Building, located directly on the beach. The views from this villa are nothing less than breathtaking, looking out directly onto the crystal clear blue water of Sapphire Beach with St. John and the British Virgin Islands in the distance. No other building at Sapphire Beach is as close to the water as E building, giving you the feeling of being on a cruise ship as you look out the windows from the balcony on both levels. Surround yourself in luxurious comfort in this elegant sanctuary by the sea!

E-307 is a fully renovated 2-story villa that sleeps up to 6, and is ideally suited for a couple or family. Travertine natural stone tile on both floors, custom cherry cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms, and luscious granite countertops lend an understated elegance. The first floor of this 960 square-foot air conditioned villa features a recently renovated full kitchen with slab-granite countertops, high-end cherry cabinets, designer pendant lighting, new stainless steel refrigerator, stainless steel convection microwave oven, glass 4-burner cooktop, coffee maker, and blender. Our new kitchen features a breakfast bar with 3 stools along with a dining table that seats 4. Enjoy the widescreen HD TV (with complementary cable and DVD) from either the dining area or living room area which also includes a queen-sized sofa bed. The entire first floor has been updated with travertine stone tile. The first floor bathroom has also been renovated with tiled floors and walls, granite countertops, double sinks, cherry vanity, and a newly tiled shower. Free wi-fi with unlimited data access is provided for your convenience.

The second floor master suite features an 18-foot high cathedral wood ceiling, a new king-sized bed with luxurious linens, and a separate living area including a queen-size sofa bed. The second floor full bathroom has also been renovated to include new travertine tile, granite countertop, and cherry vanity. Both bathrooms include hair dryers and plush towels. A brand new HD TV complements the second floor bedroom along with an iPod dock to enjoy your favorite music. The private balcony with new lounge chairs invites you to enjoy the views of nearby St. John and the BVI by day, or enjoy a glass of wine while you count the shooting stars at night. The view from E307 of the moon rising over St. John is magnificent!

Next to the comfort you’ll enjoy in Villa Far Niente, the highlight of your stay will be Sapphire Beach itself, one of the most spectacular beaches in all of the Caribbean. Sapphire Beach consists of 2 crescent-shaped beaches that offer sugar white sand, crystal clear blue/turquoise water, and world-class snorkeling. The E building sits directly on the quieter of these two beaches and offers privacy and unobstructed views of St. John and the British Virgin Islands, yet is only steps from the pool and the watersports pavilion. Included in the price of your stay are beach towels, beach chairs and snorkeling equipment. Sapphire Beach is unique in that it provides spectacular snorkeling over coral reefs that are accessible within 25 yards of the beach. While snorkeling on either of the two coral reefs, you are guaranteed to see some of the best coral and fish to be found anywhere in the Virgin Islands. The resident sea turtles and rays will amaze you (don’t forget to bring an underwater camera!).

Whether you just want to float in the water, soak up the sun, snorkel, wind surf, or rent a jet ski, it’s all available at Sapphire Beach. The full service Watersports Pavilion and Dive shop directly on Sapphire Beach, along with Sapphire Beach Marina directly adjacent to the E building, can provide you with everything to get out onto the water – scuba, parasailing, power-boat rentals, wave runners, and Day Sails to St. John and the BVI. Lunch and drinks are available on the beach daily by the friendly staff at the Banana Cabana, located between the B and C buildings.

Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina is conveniently located on the East End of St. Thomas and less than 5 minutes from the town of Red Hook, providing access to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, marinas, and nightlife. You can also catch the ferry from Red Hook for the quick trip to St. John. The marina facility at Red Hook also offers Day Sails, boat rentals, and excursions to the BVI. Also within easy access is the magnificent golf course at Mahogany Run. Free parking is provided directly in front of E Building and rental cars and taxis are readily available at the Sapphire Beach main desk.

Why Mike Rhodes chose East End

We have been coming to St. Thomas since the mid-1990's and have always loved staying at Sapphire Beach. Having travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and Europe, we have yet to find a beach as beautiful as Sapphire Beach with views as stunning as those from our balconies.

The location of the E Building, directly on the beach, provides unobstructed views of St. John and the British Virgin Islands. We were lucky to find a 2-level villa condo in the E Building and purchased the unit in September, 2011. After completing our renovations in December, 2011, we are proud to offer our Island Paradise for rental to our guests.

Fabulous week at sapphire Beach, St. Thomas!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful spring break visiting St. Thomas & St. John's! The pictures represent the accommodations well. However they are truly better in person. Very clean & well kept. The view is breath taking even if you view it all from the bed: sunrises included! The laundry services are very close to this condo as well. We utilized the kitchen which had every utensil, cooking pot or pan that we needed. It's conveniently located close to the Red Hook shopping area if you need to run out for a convenience forgotten, the grocer or a bite to eat. Lots of towels! Both bath & beach! You just need to take your bathing suit, flip flops, tshirt & shorts. Everything else is right here for you. Snorkeling was wonderful as well: beautiful coral, colorful fish & we even saw a spotted sting ray! This is a well cared for condo that we'd recommend to anyone looking for accommodations in St. Thomas. The owner is very personal and always quick a response to any of our questions before or during our stay. It was comforting to know that we could reach out & have a quick answer. Relax & enjoy the Caribbean life here!

Beautiful condo, beautiful beach

We stayed at Villa Far Niente for 10 days and enjoyed every minute. The view from the patios is the best on the island and Sapphire Beach has something for everyone. It would be nice if the pool bar were opened, but there's a beach bar and watersports rental a few steps down the beach. St. Thomas & St. John are mountainous, the driving can take getting used to but it's worth it. There's so much to do between the 2 islands that we could have stayed another 2 weeks and not gotten to everything! Highly recommend.

Great week in USVI

We spent a week at Mike's condo celebrating my wife's 30th birthday. The views from this unit are amazing. We traveled all over St. Thomas & St. John and were hard pressed to find better views of the Caribbean & the other islands anywhere. Sapphire Beach is gorgeous. Of the 8 or so beaches we checked out, Sapphire was one of our favorites (along with Lindquist & Hawksnest on St. John). Red Hook is conveniently located just down the hill and has bars, restaurants & a grocery store. We chartered a boat out of Sapphire Marina (check out 'Lion in da Sun' on Facebook) on Thanksgiving. It was the best day of our trip! The beach bar at Sapphire has surprisingly good food and great drinks. Sapphire like the rest of St. Thomas, gets crowded on cruise ships days but we had no problem finding a great spot on the beach and thoroughly enjoying ourselves. We went to Maui for our honeymoon and enjoyed the beaches around STT & STJ as much if not more than the beaches on Maui. Check out happy hour at Secret Harbour. **$7 ahi nachos!! I'd definitely stay at this condo again!
