Great Property near the St. Vrain Trail
Comfortable 2BD, 1BA with a great wood fire stove. Due to snow we didn't get to make use of the outdoor firepit or picnic table, but they would be great amenities in other weather. The kitchen was well stocked. We were missing dishsoap and the caretaker brought some the same day it was requested. WIFI worked very well and the CD collection was diverse and enjoyable. The trail is just a short walk down the road.
Overall, we have a wonderful break at the cabin. In the winter there is little to no traffic so the whole area feels like your own space; which is wonderful. The beds were double, not queen which I remember reading. Therefore, sleeping was a bit tight but overall the space was great for a short getaway.
You are correct the beds had been replaced as full when we remodeled and put in new living room furniture ( this was an error on delivery ) we are hoping to have the new beds delivered soon. Thank you for your review.
Great place for unwinding up the the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
Everything was clean and in good working condition. The wood burning stove was one of my favorite parts and kept us nice a toasty on some cold, snowy December nights. Beautiful scenery! Would love to come back in the Summer. Rene was super friendly and accommodating!
Our goal is to offer a coming home feeling to all our guest.
We appreciate the kind words and hope you return soon.
Relaxing weekend near trails and an easy drive to Estes park
I really loved the place. It was a lovely cabin in the woods near a trailhead. Very quiet. I plan to come back during the summer to enjoy the outdoor firepit. The owners were very helpful too.
Peaceful and restful
The original intent was to view the eclipse. The cabin was very cozy in a lovely location, and the owners were very helpful with immediate responses. My husband fished and we hiked, we played cards, listened to great CDs and cooked amazing meals. The eclipse was disappointing as it clouded over right at the totality mark. Wish the cabin had had TV as we could have watched all the excitment. But over all, a very relaxing 2 days. We chose the guest clean up option which took longer than anticipated but thats because we are picky. Good time with dear friends. Thx owners.
Dear Guest ,
We appreciate the tidy guest and are grateful for your review.
Visit again soon!
Cottage is nice, could use some upgrades but we enjoyed our stay. More traffic than we thought going in front of the cottage to the trail but no big deal. Be prepared to drive or ride, you're a good ways from any town. Do watch the front doorstep. There's a stone that will completely slide off which I found out on the first morning. Sprained my ankle because of that stone which was a bummer because that ruined long hiking trips for me. Clean up process is no big deal as the washer and dryer work really well. Plenty of hot water available. Weather is unpredictable in the area, you could have sunny skies then move 10 miles down the road and raining so be prepared. Overall, a very nice trip just hope that step gets repaired ASAP, could see that as a liability if it happens to someone who likes to sue people. If we come back to area, we will probably find something a bit closer to Estes Park but we knew coming in that we would be driving a lot.
We are grateful for your response. Hiking can sometimes jeopardizes ones footing and the Rockies can be trying on ones ability. The property manager reviewed your suggestion but found that the step was not loose that it had gotten chipped, thankfully the landing is very wide and deep enough for solid footing. Stair is back in original order.
Any of the following are either immediately available at the property or are within a short drive. Downhill and cross country skiing at Eldora Ski Area, Nederland, Fly Fishing, Gambling, Hot Springs , highway and dual sport motorcycle touring, wading/ swimming, great hiking, backpacking, camping. Jamestown Merc is a great local spot for breakfast or dinner and live music and is only 5 miles away. Other great restaurants nearby include Morrocco's in Ward and The Gold Hill Inn in Gold Hill. Local Campsite hiking at Camp Dick located a short drive also allows daily trash dump privileges.
