We are located in an area of wineries and estate homes, close to everything but with very serene privacy. This property is owned and operated by the Center for Reuniting Families, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. On November 15, 1994, the Center for Reuniting Families was incorporated as a non-profit educational organization with the following purpose: To establish and maintain programs providing both teen-oriented and adult assistance to educate and encourage choices that are positive for the individual, family, community and for the greater stewardship of the earth through experiential exercises and to develop a teaching institution disseminating educational material to the public. In addition to our core goals, at Dancing Deer Farm we provide a venue and shared resources to other non profit organizations who address the challenges of creating ecologically and economically vibrant and healthy families and communities. Through these collaborative efforts, CRF is a center for education, research, and demonstration to develop strategies for a sustainable future.

Amazing Stay At Dancing Deer For Wedding And Family Reunion

Went to Dancing Deer to officiate my niece's wedding ceremony. We could not have had a better time. The accommodations were perfect for our families especially the large kitchen and living room which became the "hang out" rooms. Maria and Cliff were wonderful hosts and took care of our every need. Plenty of space on the large property (80 acres I believe) to head off on a peaceful walk and of course no shortage of deer to see. Beautiful views to wake up to in the morning and enjoy the sun on the large deck. Can't wait for a reason to go back!

Would come back, but not during summer

We stayed in the hacienda and enjoyed the accommodations. The main pros: There was plenty of room for everyone, the beds were comfortable, and the kids had fun in the pool.

The cons: 1)The free Wifi was basically nonexistent unless you're up at 3am to connect and no one else in the house is connected. They did have a booster to increase the signal, but it was plugged in and not connected properly which rendered it useless. 2) The coffee maker didn't work at all. 3) the reason I wouldn't recommend staying during the summer is there is an AC wall unit in only 2 places--the kitchen and living room. This made the bedrooms hot and stuffy thus making it difficult to sleep at night unless the window/French door was open. We did have a ceiling fan in our bedroom but unfortunately it didn't work.

I would stay here again, but not during the summer. I would definitely bring a coffee maker, a MiFi for internet connection, and definitely bring ear plugs. The walls are thin and the sound tends to carry because of the hardwood floors and high ceilings in the living room.

Family Reunion and Wedding Celebration

My husband and I eloped for our wedding ceremony, but needed a space for our family to gather and celebrate at a later date. This property was perfect! We rented the entire property (Hacienda, Country House, and Barn) for a long weekend. The larger house served as the hub for us. The commercial kitchen was perfect for a large group breakfast the day of the party. The large dining area and deck was perfect for all to enjoy group meals. The smaller Country House housed all the young people. It was very comfortable and perfect for our group. The Barn held our reception and it was the perfect size for a group of 65 people. The twinkle lights added a nice romantic feel to the venue. We wanted a casual celebration that reflected us and this venue was perfect. Its proximity to wineries, Hearst Castle, downtown Paso Robles and Templeton let guests get a feel for our home and community that we love so much. The 80 acre grounds were enjoyed by all - it was awesome to look out off the deck and see our guests roaming the property and enjoying the great outdoors. Everyone loved the property and wanted to stay longer! Karen, the property manager, and all other employees were so friendly and helpful. We genuinely loved every minute of our stay! We will definitely be back!

A Closer Look

Our family had its 2012 reunion here and we loved the place, it was big enough to accommodate 24 family members, 7 of which were kids. The pool, ping pong table, great (yoga) room, media room, large kitchen and lovely covered decks made for great fun, great evenings eating outside and family games and contests full of laughter. We never felt like we were on top of each other. It was lovely.

We liked it so much, we came back for our 2014 reunion. This time we had 29 family members, 9 of which were kids. The familiarity was comforting, and we again enjoyed all the aspects previously mentioned. However there were things that we saw/noticed this time that we did not see/notice last time. The grout between the tile on the kitchen counters was quite dirty, not all the stoves on the range work, the oven heating is unpredictable, the ice makers did not work in the freezers, the water pressure throughout the house was very low, the wine glasses that had been put away in the cupboard from the previous use were dirty, the bathroom baseboards had paint peeling off, the smoke alarms were not even connected in some rooms, The ceiling fans in the some of the rooms were not adjustable, the handle was falling off the screen door in one room out to the deck, the curved area of the deck was cracked across the entire width and it was propped up underneath with a temporary support beam, the bottle opener provided was broken, curtains were missing in one of the bedrooms, blinds were broken in another room, one bathroom had a faulty spigot that sprayed water onto any person standing at the sink. These things we noticed did not prevent us from having a great time, but we paid what we considered top dollar for renting the Hacienda, and we just wondered how the management could let these simple things go without fixing them. One of the family members in now in a wheelchair and we noticed that some of the thresholds were hard to roll the chair over, and there was no wheel chair access down to the lower patio area where we took family pictures. Therefore this family member was not part of the photos. And then the thing that concerned us most was that were required to sign a waiver form basically relieving Dancing Deer Farms of any liability whatsoever, even if it's negligence on the part of Dancing Deer Farms. AND we were sent this form a day before we were to arrive and told it must be signed and returned. This does not give anyone any time for legal opinion/legal review.

Our Family was blessed to stay at the Hacienda for 4 days and celebrate the wedding of our daughter! We Enjoyed the beautiful view and all the wonderful walks with nature. During the wedding when the Viollin and Cello player played 15 Deer came up the hill to see what was going on, that was the most we saw those 4 days. What an amazing thing to see when your wathcing a beautiful wedding... Karen and Petter & Jeff were very Accommodating to us and are needs. If you love nature and beautiful rolling hills you will love your stay at the Hacienda!!! Thank you Michael & Danette Hannan
