WE LOVE our Beach Cottage and so do our guests.... many have been enjoying this secluded hide-away in paradise! ALOHA! PEACEFUL... TRANQUIL.. .PERFECT FOR RELAXING! In this spacious one/two bedroom cottage you can truly get away from it all with spectacular unobstructed ocean views from nearly every room!

Our remodeling project was finished in 2010, complete with upscale kitchen and bathroom. We have granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, quartzite flooring throughout, Hawaiiana style elephant bamboo furniture, a fabulous bathroom with walk-in shower, plus a hot water shower in the outer back porch as well. Our glass enclosed lanai (porch) overlooking the ocean is complete with a bar height dining table and seating area, perfect for watching sunsets inside or out. Although we tried to leave no stone unturned on the inside, the best part however still remains, the incredible front seat to the oceanview, the green sea turtles that feed in the water in your front yard, the peace and quiet you will find, the long strolls on the beach at low tide and the lush beautifully landscaped property. This is truly a tropical haven!

This cottage is a duplex, located on a 6 acre parcel with other cottages. The property has secured gated parking, a heated non-chlorinated pool, tennis court, chipping green and a coin-op laundry room available to all our guests.

There are miles of deserted beaches with golden sand and pristine waters, filled with tropical fish, seasonal whales and green sea turtles. Discover isolated sandy coves perfect for swimming and snorkeling, driftwood, seashells, surfing, windsurfing & kite boarding. The mountains behind the cottage offer good hiking trails. Just a few miles from the cottage you will find the world famous beaches of the North Shore and the lovely historic town of Haleiwa. There is a harbor, restaurants, art galleries and local food markets. We are an easy 30 minutes from Pearl Harbor and about 10 more from there to the Honolulu Airport.

Welcome to Paradise!!

Rebecca Quigley purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Rebecca Quigley chose Mokuleia

There is nothing better than being directly on the beach ... the sound of the ocean putting you to sleep ... watching the turtles play in the water all day long... enjoying the sunsets at your fingertips!. During whale season, Dec 15 - April 15, you can watch for whales playing between you and the horizon line, it is simply spectacular!

What makes this cottage unique

The quiet beaches, the pool, the tennis, the surfing, the sunsets the peace and quiet surroundings...simply relaxing! We love this end of the North Shore as there is minimal traffic compared to the Haleiwa side going toward Sunset Beach. Our area can get a little bit more activity on the weekends but that's because people that live on island also want to enjoy a piece of this peaceful paradise. It doesn't impact our complex too much because we are a gated community.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This beachfront cottage is restful, restorative and filled with the sounds of the sea. Loved the sea turtles and the incredible sunsets. It is quietly wonderful inside and out. Many Thanks!

We had an amazing week in Mokuleia at this beautiful home on the ocean. We had never been to Oahu so we had a lot to discover and explore. We found the North shore to be our favorite and spent most of our time relaxing. The home is just as pictured only better. It is in a quiet, private cluster of homes with very few rentals and the home owners take very good care of their properties. It is very dark so if you arrive at night, USE FLaSHLIGHT. It is easy to get turned around but map and directions provided were good. The beach in front of the property was mostly under powerful waves and unswimmable but we knew this was the case this time of year. We did see turtles right out front and whales breaching off in the distance daily. One benefit of winter rains: Rainbows!!! Beautiful right out in front. The horses right next door were an added aesthetic to this calm and beautiful part of the world.

The Queen bed was comfy and linens soft. The smaller bedroom off of the kitchen would be prefect for little ones. Owners stocked new fluffy towels and we had everything we needed. I actually felt guilty taking them to the beach. They provided beach chairs and boogie board. The weather was more humid than usual and we appreciated the many ceiling fans and portable fans. Rebecca was very responsive to our needs and helpful. We stocked up on food and drink at Costco before heading to the home and picked up a few things a local grocery. We picked up garlic shrimp from food trucks several times and brought it back to eat with salads at the house.

Here are a few of our favorite things we did:

Hang out at the beach just down the road past the air strip, Army Beach maybe, but before you get to Ka'ena Point, Very secluded and you can swim and snorkel, gliders and sky diving going on all day. Shady area to the right.

We loved hiking at Ka'ena Point.....amazing rock and volcanic formations and the best place to see whales.

Visit WAIMEA BAY and Waimea Valley, swim in waterfall.

Breakfast at Haleiwa Cafe and food trucks!

Dinner at Haleiwa Joe's, expensive but very good.

Watching Surf competition at Banzai Pipeline.

We did the Pearl Harbor thing but snorkeling at Hanama Bay was out due to high bacteria counts :( There was a lot of rain....

We also hiked Diamond Head and visited Kualoa Ranch, explored Wikiki but we were so glad we stayed on the North shore in this lovely home.

This vacation will always be a special one and we now have a new "happy place" to go to.

Hawaiian Paradise

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay in Hawaii. The cottage is a little ways away from most things (about 30 min from Laie) but the view was magnificent. We loved waking up every morning and watching and listening to the waves. This unit overlooks the ocean and it is a beautiful view. It was quiet, secluded and serene. Rebecca was great to work with. We had some trouble with the TV but she got a new one and set it up as soon as she could, but it still had some problems. But we weren't there to watch TV.

It is on the Northwest corner of the island away from everything. But it is quiet, beautiful and a wonderful place to stay. We would definitely come back here. CBP

Second Stay and Loved As Much As the First!

  • 5 of 5

This little beach house is perfect! Great view of the ocean; you can hear the waves all night long. The view of the stars at night are beyond amazing! Plus, you are away from the crowds. Just a short drive to Hale’iwa for groceries, food, shave ice, etc. Right around the corner from secluded beaches. There were just 3 of us this time, but was comfortable with the four of us the last time. Mahalo and Aloha!

Gorgeous, peaceful North Shore property with amazing views!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful vacation in North Shore for the Thanksgiving Week. We are typically a condo resort family (we stay in condos in Kaanapali regularly) and really wanted to try something different this year now that our boys (5 and 7 yrs) are older and more adventurous. North Shore itself was awesome. The condo is super close to Haleiwa- which is an amazing town with tons of great food trucks and restaurants. Access to stand up paddle boarding and kayaking was great, about a 15 min drive and easy to get to. The condo was the perfect size for our family. We went to Costco on our way in and the two most important things we got were 2 extra beach towels for the trip which we kept and brought home, and a Sand pale and beach toys. Much needed. The beach towels that are there are in need of replacing. The kitchen is wonderful, fully stocked and the view is just outstanding. I will miss waking up every morning and having my coffee with that view. What was disappointing was the tides were so high and rough that there was absolutely no access to the beach, even walking. I actually used the satellite feature of google maps before going to see if we could access the ocean from a neighboring street and it looked like we could... but the tides were so high and rough it was impossible. The spray from the ocean hitting the sea wall was literally hitting the windows of the dining area at times. We had to get in our car everyday and find a new beach to spend the day at. But to be honest, that ended up being awesome. I used the weather app to find the best weather on the island that day.... and off we went! There is a playmate cooler in the condo that you can pack up every day, beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. We would come back at the end of the day, shower off in the outdoor shower and get in the pool before dinner! The residents there are lovely and very nice- but warning- this place is extremely quiet and the slatted windows when open allow the sound to carry easily. I was very nervous for the first few days about my boys being too loud when we were there. But after speaking with a few neighbors- it turns out it was fine all along. All in all its a special place- just wish we could have spent beach time at the property. if there was direct access to the beach this time of year I would have given it a 5 for sure!

Just as listed, right on ocean, nicely updated.

We were deciding between here & Turtle Bay area, so glad we choose Mokuleia. Quiet and residential feel with a pool, 1 tennis court & horse polo field next door. Ahhh, for me, it offered a country setting with the many activities I enjoy. Older, small property but this unit has been remodelel throughout. If you want to be right on the crashing waves in a non- resorty country quiet setting, come stay a month. Aloha! From Oregon
