Spacious, well-stocked & nicely decorated unit with attentive service from the Owner

  • 5 of 5

This was my 2nd time using VRBO. I was a little leery after my 1st experience with another property owner who was non-responsive prior to arrival and very late on returning my deposit. I picked Keith's property because he has so many positive reviews over a long period of time. Keith changed my opinion about VRBO. He is very friendly and was responsive to my inquiries prior to booking and provided clear communication throughout the process. Once you find a good owner, you stick with him. So I will definitely try to book first with Keith's property each time I return to Mammoth.

The unit was spacious for 4 adults and 1 child. I was grateful the upstairs loft had a 2nd bathroom for our group. The bedding throughout the house was clean and warm, with extra towels stocked in the bedroom dressers and bathroom cabinet. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the housewares and utensils we needed. It was NOT the broken down spares of a neglected vacation home like others have done. I was nicely surprised at the selection of spices in the spice rack (ah the little things) and was doubly impressed to see a molcajete in the cabinets to make homemade salsa... I knew we were kindred spirits LOL I liked the hooks near the front door and also in the Master Bedroom closet to keep our snow clothes organized. The workshop area is a neat use of space but we kept our boards and heavy gear stored in our truck.

We really enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings after a long day on the slopes. We brought our Roku to connect to the tv and rented movies at night. The bookshelf in the livingroom has an enormous selection of games and the bedroom has another bookshelf filled with books. The 3 heaters all worked well and our group was very comfortable in the unit.

The only considerations I hadn't planned on is the entry door is on the second floor which turned out NOT to be a problem for my mom. And I didn't pay attention that the Master Bedroom didn't have a tv - only the livingroom. Our guests slept in the very spacious loft and we didn't want to disturb them with late night tv noise from the livingroom below. So we set up our laptop in the Master Bedroom and it worked out just fine.

Good place to stay.

Classic mammoth condo with some nice upgrades. This condo has all that you need for a home away from home. We took our son to ski for the first time thinking we would catch some nice sunny days over spring break,we got several as well as a couple of winter like days that allowed us to play in the snow and some time to stay indoors and play a few of the board games provided. Good location near many restaurants and stores. We would stay hear again.

Great for kids, Cozy Condo

  • 5 of 5

Keith was beyond hospitable and attentive during the booking process. My husband and I and our two girls really enjoyed our stay there, albeit during one of the HUGE January snow storms! The unit is adorable. The recent upgrades in kitchen and bathrooms are a nice touch, while keeping the rustic mountain cabin look throughout the condo. The kitchen is well stocked with various pots/pans,/dishes, etc, and all appliances worked great. Have already secured our reservation for the next trip.

Cozy, family friendly, well-equipped condo

The unit was perfect for a family ski getaway. Clean, warm, well-equipped for our family of 5. Location was convenient for walking to restaurants or a short drive to the mountain!

Very nice, convenient location for skiers/families

  • 4 of 5

We took our 10 and 12-year-old boys up for a couple of days of skiing and really enjoyed our time in Keith's place. He texted me on our way up and reconfirmed the code for the lock box and made sure we were all set, which was an extra nice touch. The place is cozy and well-appointed with pretty much everything you'd need for a mountain weekend. We had plenty of room with the boys in the loft and us in the master bedroom to spread out. One of the best things about this place if you're headed up to ride or ski is the fact that you can catch the green line bus right outside the Mountain Shadows complex - giving you a free 10-minute ride up to Eagle Lodge on Mammoth Mountain. Super convenient. If there are any drawbacks to this place, it was that the walls were a bit thin and we had a particularly noisy group of people next door who were up drinking and partying until 2 AM, and we had to bang on the wall to get them to be quiet. Other than that though, we'd definitely stay here again and appreciate all of Keith's responsiveness and help.

Cute, cozy cabin - Great place to stay in Mammoth!

  • 5 of 5

Kevin, the owner, was terrifically responsive as others have noted. We called to get help with the wall heating units and fireplace, and he responded right away and had a repair person sent out the next morning to reset the wall units. The unit is adorable (my 11 year old daughter absolutely loved it) and has most everything you need along with very nice and warm bed linens and comfy beds. Wifi is slower than what we have at home, so downloading movies from our Amazon & Netflix accounts (my husband brought all the cabling for that) while I was also doing office work through VPN and my daughter was watching YouTube on her phone was tricky, but we managed ok. We also never got a hang of the fireplace (it would get smoky in the unit), but this was likely our user error and certainly with the wall heaters working, there is absolutely no need to light the fire at all. Great place to stay and we hope to come back in a month or so for another visit : >
