My husband and I stayed here along with my best friend and her husband and this house was absolutely perfect! Right on the ocean, rooms facing the ocean. It was the perfect space for us (would also be great for a family). The home had all the necessary amenities, and cute as can be, with cute shops and restaurants nearby. We will absolutely be back and would recommend this home to anyone looking for a great Maine getaway. The owners were very responsive and easy to deal with. This was a great area; under a three hour drive from Boston with plenty to do nearby. Can't wait to return to Maine! Absolutely amazing trip! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
Danielle - thanks so much for the kind words and staying in our home. Please come back to Bailey!!
Such a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Great place for a chance to get away and relax. There are a number of stairs though, if you have mobility issues.
Lisa, thanks very much for the great review. We are happy you enjoyed our home and hope you will stay with us again.
Beautiful home in a breathtaking location!
We've just returned from our little getaway on Bailey Island despite never wanting to leave! Over the years we've rented many a vacation house in Maine but this was by far our favorite. The location is simply stunning. It almost feels as though you are on a ship rather than in a home because you are so close to the water that when standing in some locations, you only see ocean - no land! It's just breathtaking!
The house is well-maintained, cleaned and in great shape. The kitchen, though not large, is well-stocked. The only thing missing is a lobster pot. Everything else was there, clean and in good condition. There were even quality knives!
The house is not excessively large but we had 2 families staying and we were very comfortable. Having decks on 3 sides of the house was a huge plus, we could follow the sun or find the shade no matter what and we still had amazing views!
The beds were all very comfortable. Good quality and seemingly on the newer end. Sheets were soft and clean. Incredible views from every bedroom!
Jessica and Nino were fantastic to work with. Kind and quick to communicate. Once at the home, there was a helpful packet of information. We had no questions for them while there, likely because of how thorough they were.
The Island is adorable! Quaint and quiet Maine-just what we were looking for. The teenagers found that there was plenty to do-riding bikes, exploring the Giants Stairs and the local gift shops. The candy store was a big hit as were the Salt Cod pies....those pies!!!!!
I would highly recommend this home! Thank you for sharing your home with us, Jessica and Nino. We truly were grateful to be there!
Malaika - thank you very much for this review, it means a lot to us. We hope to see you again in the future.
Sensational Sea View
Our experience at Sea View on Bailey Island was unparalleled from start to finish. Fresh, elegant and equipped with a true preserve of oceanfront, the house is full of tasteful and sensible furnishings, including such thoughtful details as binoculars, wireless Bose speaker, sunny & rainy day games, abundant high quality tableware, good culinary knives, beach towels and lovely linens. The Granatieros are gracious and instantly responsive to our queries, sending us such details as the locations and timing of local farmer's markets and seafood sources. It says something important about our hosts that the educated and truly fascinating neighbors on both sides had nothing but kind and helpful words for us.
Bailey Island is a true Maine experience– with a small working harbor that is friendly to "highlanders" from off island who bring their own boats. We were able to leave our kayaks above the high tide line at the community beach all week and never once worried about our gear. Don't neglect to look through the books on island history at Sea View; this will enrich your experience all the more.
We chose Sea View for a celebration of family and found the place to be equally engaging for every generation. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there and hope to return.
Anne - thanks so much for this heartfelt review. We hope to see your family again in the future.
Beautiful views, very spacious, well stocked home. They truely thought of everything!! We loved our time there!
The property was beautiful!! The cliffs and ocean were breathtaking. The porch was so nice to sit out on. Sunrises are sepectacular!! Plenty of room! Note to parents the steps are slightly dangerous with small children, there are no backs on the steps. Maybe I'm just picky but the only downfall I found was that the house was clean but for a cleaning company coming in and cleaning it and me paying $200, there should have been places and spots that were a little cleaner. The house was turned around that morning before we arrived, but the house was quite dusty and there was hairspray residue on the bathroom tabletops. Floors i dont think were swept or mopped. And there was a lot of hair in the bathrooms, whether it was missed or it was from the cleaning ladies. I dont know. Other then that it was perfect. We would definitely return! I loved having staple items available and also leaving some stuff there when we left for other people to use. And the owners are super easy to work with and talk to. They made our first trip to Maine very easy!
Thanks so much for the kind words and we are so glad you enjoyed our home. The cleaning comments obviously concern me. I have sent your comments to the cleaning company, who are usually very reliable, and will be following up with a call today to understand why this happened. If you do come back and stay with us again, I will not charge you the cleaning fee for your next visit. Thanks again!
