This snug duplex is located on York Street...2 blocks from the Botanical Gardens and 3 blocks east on 12th Avenue to coffee, breakfast and dinner spots. 3 blocks north is Colfax Avenue with great restaurants, pubs and a great variety of shopping. It is a comfortable “home base” while you are exploring the great historical west: hiking, biking, walking, shopping and sitting outside in the sunny Denver days; absorbing the cultural experiences available at the many museums and outside art; and wrapping up the day enjoying the varied night life available in the Mile High City.
The guesthouse is an updated duplex in the Craftsman style and was built in 1921. The 960 square foot north duplex has a cute private flower garden with a grill and deck in the back and a good sitting porch in the front. It is a very light and airy house with 2 bedrooms; a very unique bathroom with a claw foot tub and shower; a dining room and a full sized kitchen with a breakfast nook. The home is heated by totally quiet radiant heat in the winter and by an evaporative cooler in the summer. You can also “connect” to the free WI-FI
One bedroom has a queen size bed that is very comfy and looks over the garden. The Second bedroom has a twin trundle bed that can pull out to make a double size bed. A crib and/or toddler bed and a roll away bed is available upon request. All of the beds have new bed linens and covers and are very welcoming to our visitors.
The kitchen and breakfast nook are fully equipped with a dishwasher, gas stove with convection oven, and dishwasher. For a snack on the run, a microwave and toaster oven can warm anything in a couple minutes. The cabinets and drawers are filled with dishware, silverware and pots and pans for a “full scale” dinner. Leaded glass windows let in the sunshine while you have that first cup of coffee or tea in the morning.
The comfortable living room has a big leather couch for relaxing; a flat screen television; DVD player; and a gas fireplace. The open floor plan joins the living room and dining room. The dining room has a modern table and seats six. The floors are hardwood throughout with beautiful area rugs to provide comfort.
The laundry room has front loading washer and dryer, a folding table and an iron and ironing board. Laundry room is stocked with laundry and cleaning supplies.
A private, fenced backyard is filled with flowers and sunshine during the summer. A table and chairs on the deck are a very nice place for coffee in the morning; a barbecue during the evening and drinks and candlelight by night.
Free on street parking is available. Garage parking is available for a small daily fee.
No matter what the reason you might be visiting the Queen City of the Plains, the Denver City Vacation Rental is centrally located and close to restaurants, major tourist sites, parks, hospitals, highways and bike and walking paths. The Denver Botanical Garden is an easy two block walk and Cheesman Park is three blocks away. Cherry Creek Shopping Center can be reached by walking, using ride share bicycles or a very short cab ride. City Park is an easy 6 block walk. City Park includes the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, lakes and trails and is a great place for walks and is also an outside site of summer concerts. The Denver Zoo, IMAX theatre and the Denver Museum of Science and Nature are also located in the same area. The Cherry Creek Shopping area can be reached by RTD Bus with a bus stop a few steps away. The Denver Downtown has the 16th Street Mall with a free shuttle that you can get on and off every block. The Colorado Convention Center is located 4 miles away and can be reached by RTD Bus, Taxi Cab or bicycles.
