This is the heart and soul of Washington, DC. You’re just a short walk to all of DC's major sites, including the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court and the impressive National Mall. Want to step out of the tourist mold? Rub shoulders with members of Congress and the Senate in one of “The Hill’s” many fine restaurants and eateries within a 2-block radius; White Tiger, La Loma Restaurant, Café Berlin, Bistro Cacao, Sonoma and Toscana Café to name a few. Beautifully restored Union Station also has a large food court, several restaurants, shops, and Starbucks. Wine aficionado? Schneider’s of Capitol Hill, one of DC’s best wine stores, is also located one block from the apartment. Finish your meal with a leisurely stroll through the history-soaked neighborhoods that author and socialite M.E. Sherwood once described as capturing “a mingled simplicity and grandeur.”
You won't need a car! Nearby Union Station is a transportation hub for the mid-Atlantic region. The station contains two train lines (AMTRAK and local MARC trains). Union Station is also home to Washington’s subway Metro Red Line; Metro and Circulator buses; tour operators; and rental cars and bikes. And in addition to plentiful Metrobus stops all along Capital Hill streets, Capital Bikeshare makes bike rental a breeze. Or if you do want to drive (for an hour-long outing, or a longer trip outside the city to Monticello or Gettysburg), consider registering online for Car2Go or Zipcar--flexible alternatives to traditional rental cars. We do not have a parking space at this location. Union Station (very short walk) has a very large parking garage
“This apartment was wonderful and perfect in all ways, decorated beautifully, very clean, perfect location. Inside and out was just lovely. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. You really got the D.C. experience being there. Having a nice kitchen with all the appliances one would need was so convenient. We would spend our days exploring and some nights it was perfect to be able to make a sandwich and gear up for the next day and not have to go out for every meal. The bed and bedding was first rate, and very comfortable. The decor was cozy and very tasteful. We also had a spot to park our rented car so we spent a couple of days in the country. Although, you could spend weeks in town and never see it all. The location was perfect to walk to everything or just around the corner was the Union Station (beautiful) to catch a cab. It was easy to book. Everyone was so helpful in every way. All in all, we are a retired couple who had the perfect adventure. Thank you”
