My husband and I still have one daughter at home and two grown sons. My husband is a paint contractor and works all over Arizona. I am an administrative assistant for a non-profit in Phoenix.
Brian or Karen purchased this house in 2006
We choose our vacation home in Payson because it is just a little more than an hour away from our home in Mesa. We love that it is in a quite cul de sac but still close to points of interest.
We like that we are close to Pine and Strawberry off the Beeline or Christopher Creek and Kohls Ranch off Hwy. 260.
We love going to our house in Payson to get out of the rat race of the city and enjoy the quite. When we are there we generally enjoy the Payson Library, Green Valley Park, the Sawmill Theatre or the bowling ally that is within walking distance of our home.
In the winter we go sledding in an area near Strawberry and enjoy the crisp cool air.
Other times, we just enjoy sitting on the balcony and enjoying the solitude and weather.
We had a very nice weekend in Payson and in the surrounding areas. This rental was great because we were able to cook and just hang out on Friday night and Saturday morning. Having a kitchen area was great. Even though the house had A/C, we found the house had a great cross breeze just by opening the slider and windows. We had everything we needed at the house. It was clean and well-maintained. The husbands even had a pool table to use and they thoroughly enjoyed that.
We wanted to be right in Payson, rather than in the outlying areas like Christopher Creek. It was very quiet although it was located in town, in a shady residential cul-de-sac. The house is an older house that has been extensively renovated, especially the kitchen and living area. Most of the living area is upstairs, although our kids had fun playing pool in the large downstairs room. The house was very clean and well-maintained. We stayed for almost two weeks and the only thing that needed doing was replacing a light bulb (which we did with bulbs the owners had on hand). The washer-dryer and dishwasher worked like charms. The second floor deck was very pleasant. The price was quite reasonable for what we got. Our only complaint--minor--was that the bedrooms and living area were a little dark for reading (we read a lot), especially at night. A floor lamp in the living area and maybe a table lamp or two would fix that. Overall I'd give it a good thumbs-up!
