1BR Oceanview Vacation Rental Captain Cook, Hawaii USA
Imagine sitting at a table or reclining in a lawn chair, perched on the mountain side above Kealakekua Bay, looking over the southern Kona coastline with an unobstructed view at the 1200 ft elevation. 'Wow', you say, 'the view is incredible!' A veritable slice of paradise, with ocean glistening to the west and mountain slopes to the south. Your soul is at peace. Red cardinals and yellow finches are scampering for food. A canoe race or fishing tournament just might be happening in the ocean near the coastline.
We have such a place - a one-bedroom vacation rental on our working macadamia nut and coffee farm. This is where the South Kona Macadamia Nut Company processes its succulent nut products. The grounds around the rental have citrus and banana trees, but the orchard of coffee and macadamia nut trees comprise the commercial aspect of the farm.
The rental is in the lower level of the main house; a screened-in porch has a kitchenette and futon sofa. Very private.
Open another screen door and the avocado green walls of a large bedroom, complete with a queen-sized bed and tropical furnishings, greet you. The bathroom has a large shower. With a separate entrance, your privacy is assured.
Located on Napo'opo'o Road in Captain Cook on the big island of Hawaii, you are minutes away from the famous Kealakekua Bay and other Hawaiian sites of interest. Swim, snorkel, or kayak; drive around the island; visit the national parks; or, just stay put and soak up the view! Shopping centers are close by as are fine restaurants.

About Meris or Brad
We moved to Hawaii in 1978 from Fairbanks, AK. We built the house and started clearing the land and planting macadamia nut trees. We started the vacation rental in 2006.
Why Meris or Brad chose Honaunau-Napoopoo
This property has a beautiful view of the southern coastline of Hawaii island. It is quiet but filled with sounds of birds. The rental is away from the craziness of Kailua-Kona village and a good place to relax. It is also within excessible distances of water activities ,etc.
What makes this Apartment unique
You have an opportunity to learn about macadamia nuts and coffee cultivation.

Relaxing enjoyable time
Our plane landed after 9:00, so it was quite late when we made our way here. We tried to rely on GPS. The GPS thought we should be half a mile up the hill, but we dug the directions out of the trunk and found it. My first tip is, don't rely on GPS.
We'd made arrangements with Meris to let ourselves in so as not to disturb them.
The apartment is nice and cozy, just right for two people with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen has everything necessary, including some spices and condiments. The outside seating area has an amazing view. The grounds are beautifully kept up. There are banana trees and "feral" papayas, pineapple plants, avocado trees, and the macadamia trees.
Meris and Brad were great hosts, advising us of the best place for breakfast (Captain Cook Coffee Shack - very very good!) and providing us with avocados fresh off the tree.
They provided all of the beach necessities - cooler, chairs, towels, umbrella, etc, so we didn't even have to make our customary first stop at walmart or kmart to buy it all.
I'd highly recommend this place.
A charming space with stunning views
We could not have picked a more perfect spot to spend our last three days on the Big island! Meris and Brad were wonderful hosts and communicators and went way out of their way to make us feel at home. The suite is spacious, private and spotless!!! Incredible views from inside and out. We loved the screened in kitchen and sitting area which had all the amenities needed and much more. The bedroom was charming with a super comfy bed and lovely linens. They provide many useful items for their guests to use during their stay from beach chairs and coolers to snorkels and boogie boards. Great location for exploring the whole Kona Coast. Really close to some of the best snorkeling on the Island! We loved learning about the history of the property and how hard they have worked to make it what it is today!! You won't be disappointed. Thank you Meris and Brad for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We met as strangers but left as friends. We can't wait to return!
Loved our stay!
What a wonderful, peaceful place to stay. The view from our suite was breathtaking! Meris and Brad were great hosts. Friendly and helpful but gave us our space. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
