About Peter Bassett
Born in Argentina, grew up in Switzerland and Atlanta resident since 1975; retired attorney; single dad of grown and young children; professional mediator of commercial disputes. I split my time between my circa 1900 'shotgun' house here in Atlanta and a cabin in the North Carolina mountains. I enjoy motorcycling and traveling almost anywhere - with particular focus on on the old 'Eastern Bloc'; hiking and alternative lodging. I hope to provide the same kind of experience and amenities in the Aerie Suite that I appreciate when traveling.
Peter Bassett purchased this Apartment in 2004

Two nights in Atlanta
Very cozy but appointed well!
Clean, good AC, perfect size for 2 and probably the best thing is its one block from MARTA mass transit (train) so easy and fast access to downtown, Airport and all points inbetween. Located in trendy neighborhood.
Clean, quiet, comfortable, great location
We loved our stay at the Airie Suite. It was very comfortable and had nice touches with all of the amenities provides- coffee maker, snacks, toiletries.
Also loved meeting his chickens and his adorable dog Bella. Would definitely stay again!
Awesome location! Fit our needs perfectly.
My wife and I stayed visited Atlanta for 2 days, and I'm so happy we discovered this property as our place to stay. The suite is located in the beautiful Candler Park neighborhood. That fact alone makes it worth the price. It is a very walkable area, close to Little Five Points, which is a busy active place with a number of shops and restaurants. Dinner the first night was at the Vortex, a delicious burger spot. The second night, we walked to Fox Bros. BBQ, which we enjoyed a lot, too. For breakfast, we walked the opposite direction to go to the Flying Biscuit, which was fantastic. So good, local, walkable options for eats.
The property itself is an interesting and fun place. The owner provides a private, covered parking space in the rear of the property. When you pull in, you're greeted by a handful of chickens in their coop adjacent to the parking space. The chickens are chatty and will welcome you to the place in their own special way! You make your way into a nice little courtyard between the main house and the rental suite. The suite itself is a cozy, comfy loft over the garage. It is a separate building from the main house and provides a great deal of privacy. The handwritten note from the owner was a very nice touch that made us feel very welcome and at home.
When I booked the suite, I don't think I appreciated just how conveniently close the property is located to the nearest MARTA bus and train stop. You can see the station from the rear of the property, and it's about a 3 minute walk. The MARTA train tickets are cheap, and it takes about 10 minutes or so to get downtown on them to Centennial Park and Mercedes Benz Stadium, or whatever other attractions you're visiting.
All in all, given the price, neighborhood, and proximity to other places we enjoyed visiting, we were very happy with our stay and recommend this property for your visit to Atlanta.
Great Place Great Neighborhood
This was a great place to stay and convenient to what brought us to Atlanta. Loved it being so close to some really good restaurants. Accommodations were as described and the 2 of us could not have asked for anything more. If coming to Atlanta I would highly recommend staying here if available.
Cozy, well-appointed apartment in the tree canopy located in a walkable, interesting neighborhood with several parks, urban trails, and public transportation nearby; a wide range of shopping opportunities within a short distance; and a responsive and accommodating owner.
Awesome Stay in ATL
Peter is a great host, and the neighborhood is perfect. We drove to Atlanta but never moved the car while we were there. It's an easy walk to great food, music, shops, and beautiful parks. The MARTA is a half block away. Lots of extra nice touches like wine, coffee, juice, snacks, and even a chocolate on the pillow -- so much better than a hotel! Will try to book here next time we are in Atlanta. Thanks for a great weekend!
Candler Park is a uniquely eclectic, diverse, tolerant, laid-back, green and user-friendly neighborhood that is ideally located within easy access to all major Atlanta universities, sports, business and social venues.
