Privates boats are also available for daily trips to out-of-the-way places along the Amalfi Coast (grottoes, small islands, secluded beaches and more). You can also rent boats with or without skippers. Buses and trains connect the more adventurous tourists to Pompei, Erculaneum, Paestum and Ravello.

The large terrace, which serves as a link to the hustle and bustle of beach-goers, gives you the option of enjoying the sun and the landscape without leaving the comforts of home. Should you change your mind however, the beach is only 5 minutes away.

Incredible stay in Positano!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Casa Caldiero and it was incredible from the moment we arrived. Letizia and her family are incredible people who truly care about everyone's experience. The apartments are exactly as published and the views and location are breathtaking. We spent most of our time on the beach or on our private terrace looking over Positano. I highly suggest staying at Casa Caldiero as we will never forget our incredible stay.

Fantastic stay in Positano!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed with our two teenagers in apt #3. Letizia was great to work with. The views from the awesome patio are breathtaking. Yes, there are many stairs to get to the beach or to the main road, but, that can be said for any property in Positano. I highly recommend the short walk to fornillo beach. Get a beach chair from Fernandino and you won't regret it. We spent an unforgettable day in the sun with great food, great drinks and wonderful scenery. There are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance either up to the main road or down to the main beach area. Nice grocery store up the stairs with bread, cheese, wine, milk and other staples. The bakery is a little farther away down the main road but a great walk in the morning to get coffee and pastries to bring back to enjoy on the patio. The furniture is a little dated, but the bed is comfortable. Great french doors open out of the master for a view onto the bay. Overall a fantastic experience! We will be back (soon I hope).

Our only issue was we couldn't stay longer!! It was amazing! The views from terrace made our stay more than enjoyable, it was fabulous! The best location! convenient to reach the town, yes stairs, but it's Positano! Our moms were with us and they are elderly and handled it wonderfully. They loved it! Letizia was really wonderful. Absolutely recommend. Exactly as pictured!

Friendly family run apartments with stunning views and easy access to beaches. Great for families.

  • 5 of 5

We visited Positano for the first time and were recommended Casa Caldiero by a friend who goes to Positano every year. The location couldn't be better and the apartment is spacious and comfortable for a family of 6. I understand they have other sizes as well. Letizia is extremely helpful and she and her family live on site which makes asking for advice very easy. There are all kinds of shops for food nearby for those who want to cook or simply takeaway. We ate in most nights - the view from the big balcony could challenge many of the restaurants in the village!

Beautiful View, Outstanding Patio

  • 4 of 5

We spent 5 days at Casa Caldiero. The view from the patio is fantastic and would have to say it is the primary reason for renting this apartment. The patio is quite spacious with adequate furnishings. We spent many wonderful hours enjoying the beautiful ocean views. It's location above the main boat landing provides daily action to enjoy. As others reported, access to Casa Caldiero is a challenge and should only be undertaken by folks in pretty good shape. It is 62 steps up (the shortest route) to the apartment from the pathway into town. Going up to the main road is even more challenging. Approximately 165 steps. This is Positano so we came prepared but it was more of a workout than we expected.

The main bedroom is small but has a fantastic french door view to the water. We slept with the doors open most every night. The guest bedroom is very small and the only windows are up high and open to an alley/rainway. A bit gloomy.

In general, we found the furnishings to be adequate but quite dated and tired. The apratment could do with a fresh updating in furnishings. The kitchen is a galley setup in the back of the bedrooms. It is very spartan but adequately equipped. The apartment instructions come with warnings of power outages and caution to not run the AC's and hot water heaters at the same time. We only had two people staying and the weather was very comfortable so this was not much of a problem.

We were very disappointed that no wi-fi is available in the apartment and required daily trips into town to visit the internet cafe. On the plus side, folks were very nice at the cafe and the cappucinos were enjoyable. There are a few small markets in town but selections are very limited. Just remember hills, hills, hills so one must plan ahead.

We very much enjoyed our day at da Adolpho, a restaurant that must be reached via a small boat leaving the main harbor. It can be found by the Fish logo on the mast. Reservations are needed and one should take bathing clothes since return trips don't start untul after 2:30PM.

Day trips to Amalfi, Ravello, and Capri are easy day trips and can be scheduled at the boat landing just below the apartment. These are all must do trips.

It is strongly advised to arrange a porter to carry your bags to and from the apartment to the roads. These can easily be arranged. We opted to use Positano Limousine Service for transport from Naples to Positano and return. Cost was $100E each way and worked great.

What a View of Positano!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a delightful visit to Positano while staying at Casa Caldiero Unit #2. Letizia, the owner, was very helpful and available. The apartment is large, clean and comfortable and the outdoor terrace is huge. Kitchen is adequate, baths are fine, A/C is very good as we were there during an unusually hot time in late September. Location of the apartment is very good. Down 75 steps to Trana Genino and then a short walk to the beach area of town and the Duomo. Walking up it is 230 steps to Via Passitia near Caffe Positano. Letizia can arrange porters and it would be wise to use this service.
