About Jennifer Demello

My sister and I love to travel, experience different cultures and learn other languages. We are both avid readers, fond of jazz and world music, and enjoy good food, good wine, and good conversation. We both appreciate the outdoors as well as big cities. We are interested in multiple cultural activities and are great supporters of the arts. We don't have children or pets and we´re non-smokers (don't mind the smoke, as long as it is outdoors).

Jennifer Demello purchased this apartment in 2009

Why Jennifer Demello chose Mexico City

Mexico City was listed as the #1 place to visit in the New York Times Places to Visit in 2016¨ and our neighborhood was featured in this article, ¨getting to know the city means diving into its colonias. In the shadow of Paseo de la Reforma, the city’s grand boulevard, the Colonia Cuauhtémoc, beckons business travelers and tourists alike, with the new design-conscious and an increasing number of restaurants. ¨ Our apartment is surrounded by a large variety of restaurants, cafes, delis, boutiques, and an art house theater. The neighborhood is safe and the apartment has a live-in doorman. There is a gym, a yoga studio, a supermarket, several convenient stores, and a Mercado (farmer’s market) close by.

We LOVE the location of our place and so will you!

Great!

  • 5 of 5

Great place! My mom and I stayed there for 10 days in late June and everything was perfect. Some other reviews commented on the noise level but it didn't bother us. Clean flat, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, etc. Great location and everything was easily accessible by bus or metro. Full kitchen with basics like oil, salt, etc. and there's a large supermarket about 10 min walk away. Tons of great restaurants and cafes within a few minutes of the flat. Antonio, the driver/tour guide, was especially fantastic - picked us from the airport, took us to Frida Khalo's house and a few other places; he was full of useful information and just generally good company :) No complaints, would highly recommend. Thank you Jennifer, Marco and Antonio!

The apartment was luxurious and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the apartment immensely in the month we lived there. Any glitch was fixed immediately by Marco. It was kept in perfect condition by Grace and we loved driving with Antonio. He made our trip easy and possible. MC is an incredibly vibrant city and we were in a vibrant area which made our trip special. But it is noisy so be prepared. We saw everything we could manage physically and I kept returning to the Museum of Anthropology time and again. There are restaurants all up and down Rio Lerma and check them out on line to learn about them. Our blowout meal was at Bistro Maximo and that I'd recommend. Local shopping for food was easy, Everybody was kind and helpful. Love Mexico. I'm just sorry we didn't start coming sooner. If I was younger, I'd be coming back every year.

Beautiful modern 2 bed 2 bath apartment

  • 5 of 5

We loved the beautiful open modernity of the apartment and the convenient location. The neighborhood was vibrant and active while the apartment was peaceful. The manager who met us there, Marco, was such a nice guy and answered all our questions and explained everything well. The owners were just great and helped us out with lots of information. We were actually sorry not to get to meet them in person but hope they'll read this and come visit us in Seattle. We'd definitely stay again. Msny thanks for making our first trip to CDMX such a good one. We'll be back!

Great Location, lots of space

  • 4 of 5

I enjoyed the location and all the space in the apartment. I was traveling with a friend and the two bath two bedroom setup was perfect. Antonio the driver was a great resource and Marco was most helpful. When we discovered a leak underneath the kitchen sink, the response was immediate and most professional.

My friend found the noise levels at night (bars) and in the morning (construction) troubling, but I did not. If you're a light sleeper, the apartment might not work for you. Otherwise it is a very comfortable apartment in a great location.

Excellent!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with my partner and my mother in October to experience Day of the Dead festivities. This apartment was perfect! The owner was friendly and the gentlemen who work with the renters are friendly and professional.

The apartment was in a great area. Safe to walk around, plenty of choices for dining, and near to public transportation. Great vibe, lots to see and do.

The apartment was impeccable. Very clean with lovely furnishings. It was spacious and comfortable, offering 2 large bedrooms. The washer and dryer was an appreciated bonus.

There is nothing negative to say. If you are staying in the area, this is the place to reserve!

Stay Here!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved everything about it! The biggest plus is the location. So many great little spots to eat in the neighborhood. Try Chiquitito for breakfast, so cute and yummy! The area is lovely, safe and full of life in an easy way.

The beds were very comfortable, loved having bottled water available in the apartment (thank you!), the kitchen is well equipped (even though we ate out every meal), things are relatively quiet at night.

I can't say anything bad about this apartment. If I ever come back, I'll stay here! We used Antonio, the driver, and he was very good. Marco was very hospitable. This refuge made our trip so much more enjoyable, thanks!

Map

Car: not necessary

Our neighborhood has a European feel to it as it is surrounded by a large variety of restaurants, cafes, delis, an art house theater, a cinema, and many boutiques for your enjoyment. The neighborhood is safe and the apartment has a live-in doorman. For your convenience, there are several gyms, a yoga studio, a supermarket, several convenient stores, and a Mercado (farmer’s market) a short walk from the apartment.

Our apartment is located in Colonia Cuauhtémoc, an ideal starting point to explore Mexico City since it's walking distance to historical, cultural and popular locations around the city. Our place is a couple of blocks from the grandiose landmarks of The Angel of Independence and The Diana Fountain on Reforma Avenue. We are walking distance to the Anthropology Museum, the Contemporary Art Museum, the Rufino Tamayo Museum, and Chapultepec Park as well as the Historical Centro, which includes the Theater of Fine Arts (Bellas Artes), the Zocalo, and multiple museums and iconic restaurants. There are buses that constantly run along Reforma Ave that will take you directly to any of these sites in less 20 minutes. Other popular neighborhoods such as Condesa, Roma, and Polanco are walking distance or a short bus ride away from our place. We are a few blocks from La Zona Rosa where you will find many galleries, antique shops, and shopping during the day and bars and night clubs at night.

If you are in Mexico City on business, our location is also optimal since we are walking distance to many embassies (American, British, Japanese, and Colombian), the Mexican headquarters of HSBC, and American Express, American Airlines, Continental and many other important businesses. Most importantly, since we are centrally located you won’t spend hours in traffic traveling from one part of the city to the other.
