High Quality, Affordable and Accessible Apartment - Great Location Near Volcanoes National Park
Bonnie and David have designed a beautiful apartment with high-quality finishes and furnished it with everything you need for a comfortable stay! This may be the most beautiful rental you will ever see! The towels, kitchenware, coffee and other cooking basics provided are of high quality. The lanai is spacious and overlooks a beautiful tropical garden. We enjoyed our time in this quiet, secluded setting after spending our days at the spectacular but busy Volcanoes National Park. You can’t beat the price. The nearby Ohelo Café served us an excellent dinner; you may want to call ahead for reservations. Bonnie and David were friendly and helpful. We will recommend this rental to family and friends!
recommend for stay
it was great place to stay!
The house was clean and very relaxing with a great balcony.
The couple who owns the place were very kind and helpful.
We will definitely try to stay here agin if we come back to the Big Island.
Dreamy Rainforest Getaway
We had a lovely stay at this great property. It was a great space for our party of two adults and a toddler. The house was beautifully appointed with great attention to detail. We enjoyed hanging out at the house and especially loved the deck area. Slightly off the beaten track which adds to its charm but come prepared. Would stay again!
Great hosts and jungle like feel!
Beautiful apartment above the owners who think of everything to make your stay enjoyable. They had fresh fruit for us and gave us lots of ideas of places to eat at and visit. The location is great for exploring the volcano np (20 min. Drive). Lots to do on this side of the island wish we had stayed longer.
Excellent stay and a good value
We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location was convenient to Volcano NP and Puna, and the space was lovely - very comfortable and well appointed. It really feels isolated (in a good way) and like staying in the jungle. Beautiful apartment and beautiful grounds! I appreciated too that the evenings were a tad cooler than elsewhere because of the elevation. Be aware that there are coqui frogs that sing very loudly all night long. It didn't bother us, but I might be a problem for someone with sleep difficulties.
Fantastic rural getaway
Blown away by the accommodations. This is a very spacious 1 bedroom apt with a full kitchen, which already contains several basics (spices, different sauces, flour, rice, etc). The apt is beautifully decorated, and the owners are incredibly thoughtful in how they have stocked the rooms. The property itself is beautiful, and my husband really loved the background crickets/toad/bird noises at night, while we both loved the secluded feel. I would only say that you should not use a GPS device to get to this place, especially in the dark (this goes for most of the Big Island; GPS does not work well here, use google maps (if you can get reception in a rural setting like this) or bring a map printout). The road to this place is well paved, so if you find yourself driving onto some awful roads, GPS has led you astray. The owners were very kind about helping find the place when we got lost, and they even drove out to come get us.
Perfect location for quick night trip to view glow of Kilauea Caldera!!! 15 minutes from Volcano National Park. 15 minutes to Keaau Town. 30 minutes to Hilo Town.
