Best house ever!

  • 5 of 5

A large group of up came up over the summer for a couple nights on a last minute trip. We were able to get an early check-in so we spent the morning on the lake and checked in around 1pm. The house was pretty close to the lake and check-in office. It was in a community of really beautiful newer homes. The house was clean when we arrived and for the most part everything worked well. Our group had a great ping pong tournament the first night! The bedding situation was great for the 15 of us so everyone slept well. We enjoyed Big Bear and will be booking this home again!

Wonderful Property!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house, especially if you are a large group with tons of kids! We were upgraded to this property from a different cabin and it didn't disappoint. The property is on the top of a hill in a really nice community. It was perfect for morning walks down to the lake(about 20 minutes) or to get a cup of coffee. The kids all utilized the downstairs apartment which was great because it gave the adults in our group some privacy. I highly recommend this home!

Beatiful Home with Tons to Do

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from our first vacation in Big Bear, and we had an awesome time in this house. It was equipped with Satellite TV, a ping pong table, a pool table, a foosball table, and Jacuzzis. The kids had a blast in the home. It was a really great place to come back to after a day on the lake. We also roasted marshmallows over the walk-around fireplace in the living room which the kids loved. The interior was gorgeous. The two master bedrooms were huge and had private Jacuzzis. The kids loved the bunk beds and beds with nooks in the downstairs bedroom that could sleep 5-6 kids in beds and probably another 4-5 on the floor if you wanted to. We are thinking of coming back with a couple families for a group retreat. The neighborhood was super quiet, and it was great for an early morning walk to see all the beautiful homes and cool bear statues people had in front of their homes. I would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting with kids!

Nice Property

  • 5 of 5

What a great property! Our large family stayed in this home recently and we had a wonderful time. It's quite an interesting home with huge windows, a tree trunk beam, 2 kitchens, and wonderful forest/ski slope views from several of the rooms. The only thing that was a bummer was the lack of snow! The weather was quite warm for the winter and we ended up doing a day hike on the other side of the lake. We will stay again next time we are in town!

Falling Apart

  • 1 of 5

We stayed at this home from February 14, 2015 - February 17, 2015. There were so many problems, we had to write a long list and email it - phoning it in would have taken too long.

There were safety problems in many of the rooms, including exposed tack board in the bedroom (my daughter cut her foot on), broken glass and a broken window on the patio (Five Star was aware of this problem but had not fixed it or cleaned it up before our arrival), exposed wires in the downstairs rooms, and so on.

More problems included broken faucets and showers, broken door handles, doors to the outside that wouldn't lock, no GCFIs in any of the bathrooms, porch lights were out, the laundry machine flooded the kitchen twice and needed to be repaired, and the list goes on.

We called on numerous occasions over our 3 day stay, and spent much of our time working with the handyman to repair "the most dangerous issues".

In speaking to Maria at Five Star today, she defended the home, saying it was beautiful and did not have any problems out of the ordinary. Absolutely horrible customer service, if you could even call it that.

I understand having a few problems here and there, but our list was over 30 items long, and that's just what we found in the first several hours of our stay! I've rented a lot of homes, but this is BY FAR the worst experience I've ever had.

An incredible property

  • 5 of 5

This property is absolutely stunning. We vacationed up here for a week and it was the most memorable week I've ever spent up at Summit. Not only is the interior intricately appointed, but the views are breathtaking, and the outdoor space is just as wonderful. The kids had fun with the pool table and chased each other around outside on the decking. The access to nature is immediate, but we didn't want to leave this luxurious place. We've already booked next year! :)
