Overview

About the property

Vacation Holiday villa for rent in Tuscany, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Il Trebbio is a converted 3-bedrooms holiday self catering farmhouse on a hillside overlooking the wonderful medieval town of Barga (Tuscany, Lucca province), with the Serchio valley and the Apuan Alps beyond: this stunning panorama is its finest asset, which no guest yet has failed to appreciate. The area is totally unspoiled. There is a village shop, hotel and restaurant at the hamlet of Albiano, 5 minutes walk away. Barga is about 5 minutes away by car, Lucca 35 minutes.

Barga is in a strategic position to plan your visit to the most important tuscan cities like Florence, Pisa, Siena.Very close to Barga the wonderful heaven of “Cinque Terre” and the famous sea place of Versilia too.Obviously Barga itself and its surroundings are absolutely wonderful, rich in art works, natural parks and great wine and food!

An indirect evidence of the gorgeous heaven offered at Il Trebbio, with its quite, large, panoramic green park, its warm atmosphere and above all our hospitality is the guests percentage that came back: second time 60%, third time 40%!

All of them confirm to us, with gratifying happiness, that Il Trebbio really represents the Tuscan Heaven!!!

The house has central heating so it is available year-round; most of the spring/summer/late summer season usually is near to be completely booked from February, so it is a good idea to make plans well in advance.

Guestbook comments from the owner

So many special memories of il Trebbio: waking up to the breathtaking view of Barga from our windows; enjoying breakfast in the sun on the terrace and aperitifs in the late afternoon sun from the upper garden terrace.

My family of five enjoyed two weeks at il Trebbio and were incredibly happy with our choice of villa. Albiano is a short drive to Barga and perfectly located to enjoy views of the old city. For our young children the house is perfectly set up with enough lawn to play on and a lovely gardened terrace to play games on too. The house is well set up and equipped, and is very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the outdoors living where we could enjoy food and drinks while soaking up the views of Barga, Serchio Valley and the mountain. Owner Diego and his family were incredibly hospitable and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay at il Trebbio again when we are next in Barga!

Beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house which lived up to all expectations and descriptions. Owner answered all queries quickly and we were given a warm welcome when we arrived. Also the family made sure that we were ok during the week. Nice touch of a bottle of their own wine on arrival. Well equipped house. Comfy beds and good shower. Beautiful terrace from which to enjoy the amazing views of Barga and the mountains. Barga is a lovely town with plenty of shops and restaurants. Lucca is well worth a visit and also the Grotto del Vente. Beautiful area of Tuscany. Would recommend this house.

Lovely Villa Trivium

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week in Villa Trivium close to Barga. We felt very welcomed by the very nice hosts. The house is newly redecorated in tuscan style.

It felt genuine and luxurious.

We loved to spend nights at the veranda overlooking the town of Barga. The view was stunning.

We spent several days at the local pool. The staff was very friendly and they served good and affordable food.

There is much to see and do in the area and we would love to come back.

Autumn Harvest

  • 5 of 5

We travelled to Ill Trebbio for the English October School holidays. My aim for this holiday was to take the kids swimming as much as possible, and this was easy to do. I took my young kids to the local pool in Gallicano on most days. They made great progress, largely thanks to the quiet and friendly environment. We also went river swimming in the valley close to Fornovalasco. The kids did that well that we drove out to the nearby Bay of Poets, where the sea temperature was a good 20 Celsius. Here it was sunny, but we still had the beach to ourselves.

In between day trips out the boys enjoyed the mountainside, roaming free and watching the fog come through the valley, the sun set over the mountains and the most spectacular evening thunderstorms. Angelo and Amelia were real stars, as they brought fresh fruit from their own harvest to share with my young boys. The hosts are honest and kind people, and that is part of the treat for me.

Local town Barga was alive and well over Halloween, and when you run out of ideas, there is always Ice-cream.

There is still lots to discover in the area, let your senses be your guide!

Il Trebbio - Barga, wonderful, beautiful and relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

Il Trebbio is a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful and relaxing villa. The owners are extremely helpful and kind. Our whole family really enjoyed our stay. We were a party of 5, three 19-21 and two parents. The facilities were great and our hosts were very responsive. The local village pool is really well managed and clean. They open late on Wednsday from 2pm to 12 midnight. The local restaurant run the pool so if you want to eat at the local restaurant on Wednesday it will by the pool and you will need to pre book and order. The views are to die for. My youngest said "this is a view I could never tire of" and I have to agree. I would recommend a day trip to Lucca if you have time. I would also recommend a trip to the top of Barga to get the views and eat on the way down.

I can seriously recommend this villa! Hope to visit again sometime soon.

Stunning house in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We spent two very special weeks in the house and we were looked after by Diego and his lovely family.

The property inside and out is pristine. A clever blend of rustic but not old and dusty. Carefully put together making it feel homely.

The view from all the rooms was quite stunning and something you would pay a lot of money.

Nearly everyday was spent on the patio relaxing and admiring the view.

There is a small side garden that was more than big enough for our 12 year old to play football.

In order to get these views there are lots and lots of hills - be prepared.

A large Supermarket only 10 mins drive away

Cafe and shop 30 mins walk away ( down those hills. )

Restaurant and little bar 10 mins walk away.

Lovely hotel ( Marriott Coco Renaissance ) only 10 mins drive away if you want a posh night out.

The temperature were 5c lower than the towns and cities because we were in the hills and a fairly constant breeze made it very pleasant.

Overall the best place we have stayed in for a long time.

Thanks to Diego and Sonia and ( Diego's dad who popped over for 5 mins every few days to being fruit and say hello )
