Guestbook comments from the owner

Four 65+ women friends on a 3-day girls' getaway to Granbury. Perfect location, quiet area of town and even though the creek was quite low, its area kept us isolated from noise and traffic. The back yard was lovely. We didn't use the hot tub, but the stockade-fenced back yard would keep all quite private. The owner made sure we were well stocked with breakfast goodies and checked in with us as we arrived. The whole place was so very comfortable. We especially liked the sun room in the back which served as my prayer place early in the am and our coffee get together place after the others joined me one by one. Close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to be wonderfully quiet. We'll be back!

Beautiful home with every amenity

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this beautiful, roomy home, and we especially loved its somewhat secluded location with the creek in the backyard! The home had a a fun nautical/beach theme throughout, and all the red appliances in the kitchen - 😍! We had every amenity we needed, beds were comfy, rooms were spacious, and extra linens were plentiful! Cindy met us at the house to make sure everything was in tip-top shape; she was so welcoming and delightful and repeatedly encouraged us to call her with any needs. I highly recommend this beautiful, comfortable vacation home!

It was very nice and clean! Great location!

Weekend was wonderful, our only concern was the stair case is a little bit steep for us especially during loading and unloading.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us! So glad your stay was wonderful! We are happy you got the chance to advantage of the location and the many nearby attractions! I did check with a professional recently regarding the stairs; and they are perfectly up to code. There are also very sturdy rails on both sides of the stairs. Thank you for your input; it never hurts to check. Please come again any time!

Cutest little house!

  • 5 of 5

I came with a few friends to plan our homeschool curriculums for next year. It was the perfect place! There was room to spread out and the house itself was very clean and comfortable. Cindy was super nice, and was actually there to meet us and make sure everything was ready for us. I would definitely recommend this house!

Not Lakeside but still clean

  • 4 of 5

I think folks should clearly understand there is nothing “lakeside” about this property. It is in the back of a run down trailer park, miles away from any swimming or fishing. The creek out back is gross and only increases the number of mosquitos to deal with. That being said, inside the house is a very lovely home with ample space to rest. It was clean and Cindy was extremely kind and accommodating. The city beach was also gross and filled with riffraff straight out of the ghetto in the evenings- but if you go in the morning (when said characters are recovering from their hangovers) you’ll find it much cleaner and filled with more pleasant company. The marina had nice fishing and the short 20 minute drive to the attractions of Glen Rose made for a very nice weekend. I would suggest the home add some board games for guests to play while they are there. Most vacation homes we’ve rented have them, but thankfully I brought some from home. I’d also suggest adding black out curtains or blinds in the smaller two rooms. The master bedroom was fine but the other two rooms were very bright. Cute decor, though. You can tell the owners strive to make what they have as nice as it can be.

Owner's Response: I appreciate the 4 stars and the nice things you said about the house and me. However, you have made several completely untrue statements. 1. OUR HOUSE IS NOT IN A TRAILER PARK NOR IS IT ANY WHERE NEAR A TRAILER PARK. WE ARE SITUATED IN A VERY LOVELY LAKESIDE GATED COMMUNITY, WITH MANY BEAUTIFUL BRICK HOMES. WE ALSO HAVE SECURITY GUARDS THAT WATCH OVER THE PROPERTIES AND KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE. If this was a trailer park, don't you think one of the other 40 reviews over the past 7 years might have said something? 2.We also have a very nice Marina on the Main Body of Water (see pic) with a Large Fishing Pier (see pic) which is only four streets away from the Cottage (not miles) that you said you fished on. The Marina also has a Boat Ramp, Cafe, and Boat Dock – again, only four streets away from the Cottage. 3.ALSO OUR CREEK IS VERY PICTURESQUE AND NOT GROSS. In fact, it is a pleasant fishing area (see pics) where our guests fish behind our house. 4.When you came, you said you thought this property was suppose to be a “private beachfront property” (despite the fact that our description and pics clearly state we are on a Creek) Please make sure to actually read our description. It is available 24/7 on (Also you booked and paid for 4 people and attempted to sneak 6 more people in, exceeding our maximum limit, and trashing the house.) 5.Let me be clear. Granbury is one big Lake all over the city. Everywhere you drive you see the Lake. There are lots of lakeside communities everywhere in Granbury. There are Houses, Restaurants and Marinas along the lake, and along the canals and creeks that run off of the Lake. When you drive over the bridges, you drive over the Lake. 6.There is only one Granbury City Lake Beach.(see pic) It is policed by Granbury's friendly Policemen. It is a beautiful little beach with palm trees, (see pic) tiki-hut type picnic tables, a very nice restroom facility, and a water-type/fountain park for children to play in. A “Lakeside Community” means the Community was developed along the Lake. Our house sits on a creek, 2 houses from the Main Body of Water within the gated community.7.Also regarding board games, we do not have board games because we often have small children stay, and we wanted to avoid choking hazards from little board game pieces. We hope the readers will read our other 40 reviews and not just this one.Thank you! :)
