Leave the world behind and escape to our FIRST FLOOR 2 BR 2BA condo in the shadows of palmettos, magnolias and ancient moss-covered live oaks overlooking the recently renovated Plantation Golf Course at Edisto Beach, SC.

Spend lazy days at our oceanfront cabana with convenient facilities or strolling stretches of unspoiled beaches teeming with wildlife and strewn with seashells. Enjoy miles of bike and hiking trails, rent a kayak or charter a boat trip. Only 45 miles from downtown Charleston and an easy day trip to Savannah or Beaufort, this unspoiled Sea Island retreat provides lots of year round outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, shrimping, crabbing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, shelling, birdwatching and programs and activities at the adjacent state park and wildlife preserves. Bring your camera—the historic charm and natural beauty of the island and nearby cities is unmatched!

FEES FOR GOLF on our course are the LOWEST IN THE CHARLESTON AREA. ( 18 holes =$65 with cart; unlimited weekly rate $280 (2016 prime season rates, lower in off season).

Walk (15 minutes or, drive (5 minutes) to our OCEANFRONT cabana. The resort offers golf, tennis, 3 pools (1 heated), playground, recreation programs and other amenities for a small additional fee. ( 2017 rates are $70/person/week; $200/family of 4 /week,$15/person/day$70/person/week).

Peaceful, quiet Edisto is off the beaten path, yet there are just enough restaurants, nightspots, museums, shops and art galleries to make it interesting.

This privately owned showcase condo INSIDE the Wyndham Ocean Ridge Resort was, unfortunately, destroyed by a fire in 2010 but has been rebuilt with handscraped teak laminate and ceramic tile floors, custom window treatments and the latest in energy efficient, FIRE PROTECTED construction . It is beautifully decorated with custom window treatments, lovely art work and even a few antiques. One local agency has described it as the nicest 2 bedroom unit on Edisto. The kitchen is very well equipped with dishwasher, disposal, microwave, refrigerator with icemaker , FULL SIZED stacked washer and dryer and complete sets of dishes, cookware and utensils. Cabinets are stocked with staples AND we now have our own REVERSE OSMOSIS water system so there is no more hauling bottled water up the stairs!! Wireless internet and free long distance phone service are also included along with unlimited movies via NETFLIX streaming.

The dining table seats 6 and the comfortable living room provides a 42 inch TV with extended cable, BlueRay DVD and a lovely entertainment center stocked with books and movies. A queen sized sofa sleeper with premium mattress, 2 leather recliners, a rocking chair and drawer space in the living room allow the unit to sleep up to 5 people although 4 will be more comfortable. Large sliding glass doors open from the living room and master bedroom onto a covered porch equipped with a gas grill, ceiling fans and comfortable seating for 6. There is a plush king sized bed in the Low Country Plantation bedroom. In the Seaside Cottage bedroom, the bed can be configured as a king or split into a pair of single beds. Each bedroom has its own 32 inch television , double dresser, an upholstered chair and bathroom (1 tub, 1 shower) Linens and move out housecleaning are provided. Central heat and air provide year round comfort. Ceiling fans have been added to each room to make the most of the island breezes as well.

A local agency oversees the unit for your comfort during your stay.

NO SMOKING INDOORS. NO PETS. Unfortunately, there is no room for cribs, air mattresses or rollaways.

* A 50% deposit is due at the time of rental; remainder is due 30 days prior to arrival. A $54 BOOKING/RESERVATION FEE and 12% SOUTH CAROLINA TAX are added to all rentals. Guests have the option of paying a nonrefundable fee of $65 (+tax) for a damage insurance waiver or a $250 security deposit which will be fully or partially refunded after move out inspection verifies that everything is as it was before the occupant moved in.

Partial weeks will NOT be considered in off season. During summer, partial weeks will ONLY be considered if unit has not been booked 2 weeks before desired dates.

About CATHY OR LOCKE FLOYD

This is the 3rd “Locke Nest” for us. The first was a house on Dorothy Street that we built in 1978 when we were “nesting” shortly before our first child was born. Locke’s job as an airline pilot took us to Dallas, Memphis, and New Jersey and that, plus our 3 young children, made it hard for us to keep up with a house so far away so we sold it in 1986—always knowing that we’d be back. In 2005, we bought our condo and completely renovated it with new floors and beadboard paneling. I sewed new draperies and Locke , with help from a friend, built the entertainment center. Our backs were still aching from doing all the work ourselves when the whole building was totaled in a fire on January 23, 2010. It took 18 months to rebuild and we moved back in in August, 2011. We had been a little bit underinsured , so it was back to work for us—this time refinishing and painting furniture from consignment shops and cleaning and refinishing the few things that survived the fire. Our insurer had totaled everything and told us it was not worth saving but we felt we had to try—especially on the entertainment center—so we worked for many, many months to make things nice again.

Edisto is very special to us. Our first son, Michael, learned to walk here. Working on our renovations until we fell into bed kept us sane and helped us sleep at night when our second son, Brian, was leading an infantry platoon in Iraq. Our third son, Paul, asked Susan to marry him on Edisto and thereby got us the daughter we always wanted. And just this year, Paul and Susan got that special phone call telling them that they had been chosen to adopt our granddaughter, Samantha, here.

Wonderfully peaceful

What a great trip! This was our first trip to Edisto and we really enjoyed this condo with lots of extra touched that made it feel like home. Great for our family of 4. We did the Wyndham family pass in order to use the pools, etc. It was a little pricey at $200 extra per week, but the pool is something the kids look forward to on vacation, so it was fine. The Wyndham staff is not very helpful but I will not let that reflect my rating in this particular unit-we thought it was great. Thank you!

Exellent vacation in Edisto Island

This Condo is perfect for two couples! The place was clean and in exellent condition, could not be better. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for renting a condo in Edisto beach, to take a close look at Snowbirds! We would defenetly rent this property again.

My husband and I stayed in this condo for a month and loved it. The furnishings were lovely and the condo well cared for. The location was great - handy for golfing, beach walking and going on day trips to Charleston, Savannah, Beaufort and other places. We had never been to South Carolina and this was the perfect place to experience the beauty of low country and learn the history of our country that took place in this area. We highly recommend this property.
