Our garden unit was completely remodeled in the summer of 2011. It has a full kitchen with a five burner gas Bosch cook-top and combination microwave, convection, vent just above the cook-top. The refrigerator/freezer has a smaller profile to accommodate kitchen layout but is more than you’ll need for a few days or even a month. The kitchen is fully stocked with a full set of Calphalon stainless pans, a full set of knives and all the dishes and glasses you’d need to host a small dinner party in the garden on your visit.
The living room has a brand new 32 inch flat screened HDTV with a full stereo and DVD player. The TV has premium Comcast service including Starz if curling up on the couch and watching a movie is your way of relaxing after a hectic day.
The bedroom has a queen bed and the closet is large enough to accommodate a few wardrobes. The bedding will be changed weekly as part of the weekly cleaning fee if you are staying longer than one week.
The bathroom has a beautiful glass tile shower and granite counter tops. Towels will be laundered at the end of the week, but fresh towels can be traded out during the week if desired.
In the kitchen area, opposite the work area, is a wall mounted desk with a wireless router and secure WIFI network just for the unit. You can work late at night or just stay in touch while you are traveling. There is no printer in the unit, but if you need access to a fax machine or a printer that can be arranged with the owner as she has a home office on the property.
This unit has been designed to be the ideal home away from home for the frequent business traveler to SF, but it is also great for the vacationing tourist.
One of the things that makes this property ideal is the location. We are on Bush Street between Baker and Broderick streets. It is extremely easy to get downtown, out to the ocean or to any of the major fun places in SF via public transportation or you can park on the street with a temporary parking permit. Two blocks to the north is California Street and the #1 MUNI line runs E/W and three blocks to the south is Geary Blvd and the #38 MUNI line runs E/W there too. They connect to main lines running all over the city and they both have express or limited lines that run during high commute times and make getting downtown very quick.
It is also located within walking distance to Fillmore and Sacramento Streets. Both with an ample variety of shopping, restaurants, movie theaters and live music venues like the historic Fillmore. There are also beautiful walks you can take from the unit through the mansions of Pacific Heights into the woods of the Presidio and out to the Golden Gate bridge. The garden is lovely and very protected between the main building and the small Victorian cottage on the back of the property. It is ideal for enjoying your coffee in the morning during the warmer months.
We love pets, but do have strict rules about use of the garden so that it is always enjoyable and lush for everyone.
We live on the property and can be available to assist you in stocking the fridge prior to your stay so that you can 'hit the ground running' or in understanding the logistics for getting around town.
