Located on Oahu’s NW shore, this gated, custom, 2 level home is situated on ocean front property, including an adjacent vacant lot. The combined properties offer 150 feet of ocean frontage and a huge yard. Newly renovated and tastefully decorated, this retreat comfortably accommodates 1 family or a multi-family group sleeping a MAXIMUM of 12 guests for a minimum of 5 nights.

The upstairs living area includes a beautiful master suite opening to the lanai with a luxury Cal King-size bed accentuated by magnificent ocean views. A second bedroom is outfitted with a luxury queen bed with a beautiful mountain view. A 3rd bedroom includes a queen and a twin bed, also with a mountain view. The lower level private apartment is appointed with a TV, a new luxury queen bed and an adjacent, bedroom which includes 3 twin beds and a full bath in between.

Relax in the spacious upstairs great room or create a culinary delight in the fully-equipped, recently remodeled kitchen. Serve any meal with an ocean view in the dining room or out on the lanai.

We fell in love with this property the minute we saw it. The views take your breath away as well as the comfort and privacy of the huge double lot and enormous ocean view, with a serene, private, solar heated swimming pool. We come back a few times every year and it still makes us swoon. You will too. In Fall and Winter you can enjoy sights of Humpback whales cruising by. It truly is our 'Paradise' and it is lovingly tended.

When you walk up the stairs. drop your bags and look out the windows, take in the beautiful ocean view and head for the water, which has a magical quality even when you turn your sights east and face our sacred mountain. New gas BBQ, Cable TV (for 4 TV's), Linens, Towels, Lanai Tables, and 9 Chaise Lounges are available for your use. Games, books, CD's and many movies are available in the house for your enjoyment. First, let me say that the property has many good points. It was in a good location for us, away from the touristy areas but still close enough to get to stores, restaurants, etc. The property was very private and quiet except when the local roosters and chickens wake up in the morning. The layout is great for large families or groups. There was plenty of comfortable seating for relaxing and dining both inside and out. The oversized lot is beautifully landscaped and the pool, while in need of some maintenance and repair, was good for the kids and grandkids. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of pool toys and beach towels for all. Two of the bathrooms have been remodeled and are very nice.

On our arrival, we noted that there seemed to be a lot of things in need of repair. Some of the lights weren't working and never did work. The barbecue didn't work, a fact reported to us on arrival. Since we were planning to do a lot of cooking at home, we immediately reported this to the property manager. However, it took three days for them to replace the barbecue which we found unacceptable. In general, we found many of the kitchen items were dirty and the kitchen drawers themselves needed a good cleaning. We had to rewash many of the serving dishes we used, sometimes requiring serious scrubbing to get them usable.

The house itself is in need of better general maintenance and upkeep. It just seems a bit neglected. Perhaps the worst thing we encountered was the presence of mice on the main floor. When we looked behind the television unit and the couch and in one of the closets, it was clear that the mice had been there for a while. There were loads of mouse droppings we discovered. It was pretty disturbing to sit and watch tv and watch the mice running around the living room. We trapped four mice during our visit, but believe they may still be there. Since they seem to go under the couch, it is likely they may have built a nest under the couch in the framing of the couch. Even after a pest control guy set some traps, no one ever cleaned up the mouse droppings and we highly recommended that be done since the droppings can carry disease.

We have rented many homes in Hawaii, Mexico and other countries. We own a beach property ourselves in California, so we know what it takes to maintain a property this close to the water. However, if you are going to charge high rent, the maintenance and upkeep should match the price.

Owner's Response: With the hot and sometimes wet weather in NW Hawaii, insects look for cool, dry places to invade. Such was the case with these renters. We have the house sprayed prior to EVERY renters arrival, as we did with these people. Once we knew about their problem, we had the pest control folks come to the house again and that solved the issue. It is very unusual to have mice in our area, however they may appear if doors or screens are left open (even a small crack). We appreciate that no one wants this kind of activity, and we do our best due diligence to take care prior to all renters arrival and then again if we are notified. The BBQ sits outside near the ocean and if you have ever stayed at ocean front property you undoubtedly know that the salt air corrodes all metal items, like a BBQ. We were at the house prior to the BBQ issues, and we had no trouble, but rust sneaks in and settles on all metal items, like the BBQ. In Dec. 2017 we replaced the old BBQ with a new Char Broil BBQ and cover. Replacing the cover helps, but it cannot deter rust and corrosion. We want all renters time to be a happy and enjoyable experience, and most renters reviews state how much they enjoyed their stay. Come stay at our piece of paradise and find out for yourself!

This home is absolutely stunning!! You have the actual ocean in your backyard!! Lots of beautiful windows to view the amazing island.

Would come back in a second!! About 45 mins from Honolulu so it’s not full of tourists and traffic!

It REALLY is exactly like it looks in the pictures! Beautiful!

I met my family from New Zealand, Idaho and Pennsylvania and spent a week here. We were ten adults and two children and we couldn't have had a more perfect place and experience than we had. Everything was wonderful and to my surprise it REALLY is just like you see in the pictures. Everything was clean and very well appointed. We all like to cook and each of my adult children and partner took a night to shop, cook and clean-up. (Didn't I raise them well?) We had Thai night, Korean night and Mexican night and were thrilled that we had everything we needed and then some, there was even a rice cooker and chop sticks.

The location was equally stunning and impressive. The property is on a point so when you sit in those chairs by the rock wall you don't hear or see anyone else. It's also on a large double lot with lots of mature trees so you don't even know it the neighbors are home. My granddaughters had a great time playing in the yard and gathering flowers as well as the hours spent in the pool. And, it was only about a 10 minute drive into town for groceries and anything else you need.

The concierge who met us when we arrived could not have been more helpful and kind. She answered all my questions and gave me great recommendations for places and people to check out. She answered my texts almost instantaneously if I had a question. (And yes, call Danny Boro if you want to learn to surf.) I had occasion to speak with the owner a few times before our stay and Marilyn is a jewel! Thank you!

I heartily recommend this choice. We loved it and I'm sure you will too.

Relaxing home away

This house was perfect for our group of 10. The home is on the locals side of the island so it is quite a drive to any of the sights. Laying by the pool looking out at the ocean was so relaxing. Marilyn was very accommodating to our needs and communicated with us well. If you are looking for a quiet paradise away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki this is the place to stay.

Couldn't have been a better place to meet our needs

This house was in a prime location since we were working at Kaena Point for 5 weeks, the best commute I've had in my travels there. We enjoyed BBQ's, sitting on the patio out back, snorkeling at the beach right down the road, etc.

The guys and I were all happy with our stay and will look at renting here again if work brings us back.

Perfect Paradise

This place was the perfect location for our first Hawaiian vacation. The house is located along the shores of Makaha beach. Here we had the oppurtunity to meet some local people who showed us some areas to visit only known to them. The house was a perfect fit for our family, good size rooms with comfortable beds, nice kitchen with an amazing ocean views and the heated pool was perfect for my three small grandsons. We spend many evenings enjoying a full moon with the waves pounding the rocks on the beach. I would like return to this place in the future. I highly recommend this house to all who visit the island. The house manager was awesome.

Walk the tide Pools on the Lava Flow ocean beach in front of the house. The ocean is NOT suitable for swimming (see pictures and video). A good swimming beach is only a 5-10 minute walk away or a 2 minute drive to Boogie Board, Scuba and Snorkel. You can swim with the sea turtles and hire Deep-Sea Fishing Charters nearby. Whales can be seen from our Lanai during some seasons and dolphins year round. Sightseeing is available in Honolulu, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, the Aquarium, Zoo and Hawaiian Waters Amusement Park. Grocery stores, shops, restaurants, golf, sacred sites and show stopper beaches are all nearby.
