My wife and I love to go into the mountains to relax and unplug. It doesn't get much better than hiking during the summer or skiing during the winter in the mountains.
James Wallace purchased this studio in 2011
We love this area of colorado because of all of the things you can do in the summer and winter. You are right next to skiing, fishing, biking, hiking, and wildlife viewing. I love this area and have been wanting to buy a condo for 20 years.
The location can't be beat. We are so close to everything. You are in the mountains and close to solitude but the condo also has a restaurant and bar, pool, and workout area so you can have fun without leaving the complex. We also like being able to fix our own food. The condo has a rustic cabin feel with moose and bear items.
The unit is basically a hotel room in cabin style look. The kitchenette has everything you need, but a few more cooking utensils would have been nice (wooden spoon, spatula, scoop for example). We liked that it is ground level, so we could just open the patio door to let our dog out.
The hotel has a game room with a pool, air hockey, and Foosball table as well as multiple arcade game machines. Our kids loved the heated outdoor pool while we relaxed in the hot tubs (2 indoor, 2 outdoor). The gym is small and equipment a little older, but you do get a workout in, if you want to. We did not use the sauna, but it was a decent size. Bring a lock for the lockers in the changing room.
We stayed here over Thanksgiving break - unless you are an outdoor fanatic, there is not a lot to do here. Rocky Mountain National Park is only open for 10 miles, most shops in Grand Lake, which is btw one of the cutest little villages, are closed. We hiked to Adams Falls - very recommendable for the whole family. Ski Granby is not a big ski area and was closed due to lack of snow. But the hotel is only a 5 minute drive away.
State Forest State Park was about an hour drive and there was not a lot do, unless you like hiking or fishing.
The City Market is right across the street from the hotel - bring your King Soopers card.
Java Lava Cafe's Kona coffee was delicious, Mavericks Grille had good food, too. All in all, everything is a little more on the expensive side.
We had a good time, because we love the outdoors. Not sure, if we were to stay here again, if not.
Great fall weekend in the mountains! Love the heated pool and hotubs! Perfect accommodations for a small family!
We had two of our grandchildren. Boys ages 7 & 10. They had a wonderful time. They never asked to watch TV. We played cards and other games at night. The dining table was perfect for four people playing cards and games. It was close to entrance "M" which made moving in and out easier. Living room converts easily to a bedroom and the beds are comfortable. We will be back in February, without our grandchildren.
We stayed in this rental for a mini-Honeymoon following our wedding, and we only wish we could have stayed longer! The room was very clean and comfortable, and the activities available in the Inn and surrounding areas are endless! We hiked near Lake Granby, drove a lot, checked out restaurants in Grand Lake and Winter Park, and spent some time in the hot tubs. If we had more time, we would have tried out kayaking and horseback riding. James was responsive and helpful throughout the booking process. We will definitely return!
We love staying in this property. It is located conveniently near Winter Park, Grand Lake, Hot Sulpher Springs, and Rocky Mountain National Park. We enjoy the facilities at the condo as well. The size is perfect for our family of three and the dog!
Comfortable condo in a good location. It was a good "base camp" for our Rocky Mountain getaway with easy access to whitewater rafting, atv touring & visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Reception desk workers were very attentive & helpful. It would be hard to find a better value in Granby or Grand Lake.
30 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, three lakes nearby, summer festivals and concerts, dog sledding, sleigh rides, and rodeos
