Great family fun at the lake!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our family vacation at Lake George. We arrived several hours early but the owners let us in while the cleaning staff finished their work. This allowed us to get almost a half day jump on our stay, which we made full use of! The property was clean and very well stocked with every imaginable tool and utensil needed to take care of our family of 10 including 4 teens. There was ample parking for our 4 cars/trucks and 24' boat trailer and the boat launch was just seconds from the camp. All the outdoor and indoor equipment was clean and in perfect working order and we made full use of it all. The owners, Joann and Neil were very helpful but made a point of giving us full privacy. Since we have always stayed at the south end of the lake, we were concerned about being isolated at the north end but it turned out to be fabulous; far less boat traffic and great places to ski, wakeboard and tube. Local restaurants are very good but we did take the boat to the village several times which is faster than driving. This was an overall wonderful experience!

Retreat for friends and family

  • 5 of 5

The three families in our group had a wonderful week at Joann and Neil's lake rental. The house easily accommodated 3 couples and 3 teenage girls in additon to the three 18 year old boys who joined us later in the week. The kitchens were well stocked with housewares to accommodate our large party. Deck tables, picnic tables and kitchen tables provided plenty of space to sit to eat. The back yard was great for camp fires, lawn chairs and yard games. The paddle board, kayaks and boats gave us plenty of activity right off the docks and local trails and parks offered a small variety of running, walking and hiking options as well. On the rainy days we had the large game room and 2 living rooms to spread out for reading, crafts and games. Since the house is located on the North end of Lake George the trip the the Village took a good portion of the day- but it was great to be part of the oldest vacation destination in the nation. The history surrounding this area is evident in the many sign posts, historical monuments and forts. This section of the lake is in a no wake zone so the effect of boat traffic was minimal- even though there is a marina 2 docks down. Joann and Neil were attentive to any needs we had but also gave us full privacy. The area connecting the duplex (at the top of the basement stairs) took some getting used to but it was also easy enough to use the outside passage on the deck or front porch. Overall, it was a wonderful, peaceful and fun retreat for our families! We would definitely return!

Excellent - Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Our family and granddaughter stayed here for a week in August, 2016. The location was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. There is a Marina down the street that we rented a speed boat for a day. The insurance wasn't a lot and worth getting.

The owners of the property live next door and were so nice and helpful with anything that you needed. We didn't see them all week unless we asked.

There were 7 adults and one child and there was plenty of room for all of us. The game room was great for at night. Nothing like sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning with such a beautiful view.

Well worth it!!!

Great lakefront home w/lots of amenities

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a one week stay at the house and had a wonderful time. We had a party of 10 adults and 2 children for an extended family vacation. The house is very well maintained, and the owners live next door. They were very helpful and responsive but unobtrusive, so no worries there. We needed a bigger pot to cook corn and the owner brought theirs over for us as soon as we asked for it.

Though the house is a little older, the owners made up for it with little amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. For instance, there is a dishwasher in one of the two kitchens and they provided convenient items such as dish liquid, garbage bags, a few rolls of paper towels, kitchen towels for drying, and loads of water toys like floats, tubes, life jackets, 2 kayaks, a canoe, and small motorboat. There is a fooseball table, a ping pong table, darts, and a small card table in the walk out basement. This room also stays very cool. It can use better lighting though. They also had fans in every bedroom and the living rooms, and the beds are very new. The sofabeds though can use new mattresses.

The house is located at the northern most part of the lake in the Ticonderoga section which is much quieter than Bolton Landing and Lake George Village. So if you are into nightlife, bars and such, this is probably not where you want to be. But if you want a nice, relaxing area with fewer speedboats and noise, this is ideal. Having two deep water docks was also very convenient. Access to the water was only a few steps away without having to go down lengthy stairs so it's great for small children too. They also provided lots of lawn chairs and even a chiminea for a small fire (they even provided the firewood) for us to roast marshmallows.

There is also a Super Walmart about 10 minutes away which was extremely convenient and Snug Harbour North (there is also a Snug Harbour South so be sure to specify) marina a few houses down. Since it is a No Wake zone, the boats go by pretty slowly so you don't get the noise, but enjoy the convenience. We rented a pontoon boat for the week, and I would advise you to get insurance on the boat since we had a mishap despite staying within the marked areas.

There were also a few good restaurants nearby. We went to the Sentinel Grill which was excellent, and the Barbeque place which was good.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this place.

Family of 12

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for my family! We had such a great time and are looking forward to going back! The house was spotless and filled all of our needs we used the kayaks, and the canoe as well as the motorboat that was provided and the younger crowd loved the game room. We fished right from the dock and we were 2 houses down from the marina so we filled up our waverunner with gas in a jiffy. We even rented a pontoon for a few days it was wonderful!
