About Jacqueline Pizzey

I love the outdoors and enjoy finding new discoveries in and around Courtenay!

My favorite things to do would be cross country skiing on Mount Washington, hiking & walking the trails by Nymph Falls!

Jacqueline Pizzey purchased this house in 2011

Why Jacqueline Pizzey chose Comox Valley

This river-front property is a rare find. It was constructed in 1936, renovated and expanded in 1992. Then we again renovated and decorated in 2011/12. The cottage's quaint charm is refreshing in its idyllic location. You can feel something peaceful about the cottage as you relax and enjoy the river-view through its large windows.

From past guests' comments and reviews, this cottage seems to be exactly the type of stay everyone is looking for!

What makes this house unique

It's wonderful. You can swim, fish, hike, bike, walk, ski or relax with a book or a movie. It has something.. for anyone!

Come enjoy yourself. We know you will want to come back!

We loved the cottage!

  • 5 of 5

The riverfront cottage is beautiful, inside and out. It is very roomy, extremely clean and well-equipped, in a quiet and beautiful location right on the river, with lovely landscaping. The interior is decorated with taste and charm, with beautiful hardwood floors, comfortable furniture, and unique personal touches. The bed was very comfortable. There are beautiful parks within walking distance, and Courtenay has several good restaurants. Although we stayed for a week, we would have liked to stay longer to explore the general are much more. The general area is abundant with outdoor activities, beautiful drives, and interesting shopping. We would love to come back and stay at the cottage again.

Great Vacation Home conveniently located close to downtown Courtenay,BC

  • 5 of 5

We are very pleased to write this review of our stay at this River front home within walking distance of downtown Courtenay.

Upon our initial application to rent out this home we received a quick response to our inquiry. This was followed up by an extensive list of information to make our arrival and use of the amenities as easy as possible.

The home was exceptionally clean and contained every comfort you would expect at a 5 star hotel. It was clear that the owners are thoughtful and respectful of their guests comfort and satisfaction. During our late Sept stay we observed multiple seals chasing down salmon in the river directly within view on the outdoor deck. The propane outdoor firepit was a very enjoyable way to enjoy an evening after our local visits. A truly wonderful place to stay while in Courtenay.

Fantastic stay on the river!

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved staying at the river house. The kids loved the hammock and yard as well as the little fitness park just down the road. I loved the sitting area under the trees by the river where I could watch them while relaxing. We also liked that the house is kitted out with laundry soap/dryer sheets, some basic cooking supplies and shampoo and soap. The house is thoughtfully laid out with the guests' needs in mind. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!
