This premier 3 bedroom Loft is in the heart of historic downtown Durango- within short walking distance to shops, restaurants, and Durango/Silverton Train etc. It is also directly across the street from Buckley Park (the only green space downtown and location of the best kids tubing hill in the winter, and home to Durango's town Christmas Tree). In addition, the Animas River and Trail, The PowerHouse Science (formerly the Durango Discovery Museum) and the skate park are all less then a 5 minute walk away.

Our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2,159 square foot loft was built in 2007 and is the finest residence in Durango's finest luxury building - The Lofts @ 1201. The unit also features a deck that is 884 square feet and looks over Main Street and Buckley Park. The deck is a fantastic place to view Durango's many parades and celebrations, as well as its famed fireworks display on the 4th of July.

The entire condo is appointed with high-end appliances and architect designed furniture and contains amenities you would expect- such as washer, dryer, gas fireplace, WIFI, gourmet kitchen, gas grill, hot tub, steam shower, etc.

About Rick

Rick is the architect that designed the 12o1 Lofts Building, and custom designed his Loft to be the most desirable unit in the building (not to mention in the entire Downtown Business District!), with the morning sun, views of the only green space BUCKLEY PARK in the downtown district, right on Main Ave. at 12th St., in the heart of the Downtown Historic District.

Most of the furniture in the loft is 'architect designed' by either Rick or other architects.

Rick purchased this condo in 2007

Why Rick chose Southwest

Location, Location, Location. Only three bedroom VR located in the walkable Downtown Historic District. Walk to all the restaurants, bars, shops, the D&SNGRR, the Powerhouse Science Center/Museum, and the Animas River and the eight mile long Animas River Trail, with great fishing, etc. It is only a 20 minute drive up to the Purgatory Ski Resort, 35 minutes to Mesa Verde, & 55 minutes to the town of Silverton.

Class, Comfort, & Innovation Defined

My wife and four kids rented this place for Spring Break 2017. WOW! What a place. It is VERY classy, yet comfortable. The HUGE third floor balcony view is spectacular. The views from the large windows of the master bedroom are marvelous. The kitchen is wonderfully designed, should you wish to play "chef" or have a nice family meal. The layout is excellent. The wife and I enjoyed the privacy of the master suite while the kids had charge of the rest of the loft, living room, etc, which is nicely separated. Simple things, like the toilets being separate from the bathing rooms, are nice for a large family/group. You are walking distance to EVERYTHING you could want or need in town. The parking is secure and gated. The entire place is wired for sound, with separate volume controls throughout. (We are a musical family, so it was enjoyable as we all got ready for the day or sipped a glass of wine in the evening). The master shower is awesome! Four sprayers and a steamer. Being from more humid climates, the steam sauna was a great way to re-moisturize the sinuses after a day in the dry air. The jet tub was relaxing after a day on the slopes. We had initially thought about renting a place at the resort on Purgatory mountain, but I am glad we did not. On the mountain, you are very limited in any activities besides skiing. Dining and shopping there is very limited and expensive. Not so, with this place because you are downtown, close to shops, coffee houses, breweries, etc. Besides, the drive is beautiful and allows an opportunity to stop at the hot springs in Trimble on the way back. Rick, the owner is "Johnny-on-the-Spot" with anything you may need or advice about the area to make the experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!

Wow! You cannot find a better place to stay in Durango!

This is a beautiful condo right in the heart of downtown Durango. Walk to everything. Awesome views! Amazing little Italian retaurant just downstairs with a great people watching patio. The owners have obviously taken great care to leave visitors with every single thing you could possibly need to help you feel like you are in your own home. Extremely comfortable, light and bright. This place will make you smile!!!

Downtown Durango at its Best

We relocated to Durango this summer and rented the Penthouse for three months. The place is very nice and the location is awesome. We literally did not drive our car for the entire stay. You can walk anywhere downtown and we ventured a little further on our bikes since the Animas River pathway was across the street. The deck and hot tub overlooks the park and we enjoyed many a live event, countless sunsets and starry nights from this vantage point. The owner was also a joy to work with and helped us be very comfortable attending to our family specific needs. Durango is amazing and we now call it home. If you can get the chance to come here and stay in this wonderful; set up you will not be disappointed.

This luxury 2,159 sq. ft., three Bedroom / 2.5 Bath loft is located at the corner of Main Avenue and 12th Street in Historic District of Downtown Durango, across the street from Buckley Park, which is the home to numerous activities including art, BBQ, concerts, various community celebrations and festivals, not to mention the area's premier kid's sledding area. The only three bedroom unit in the downtown, it is a short walk to the Durango & Silverton RR, the Animas River + Trail, the New PowerHouse Science Center [a project for which the owner is the architect], a dozen or more first rate restaurants, numerous art galleries and shops and less than 1/2 mile to world class mnt. bike trails in the Overend Mountain Park.

The 884 sq. ft. deck has fantastic views of the Park, parades [Snowdown, high school and Fort Lewis College Home Comings, Veteran's Day,etc.], the Start of the world famous IronHorse Bicycle Classic bike race to Silverton, not to mention our amazing 4th of July Fireworks and parade.
