At 8,175 feet elevation, Solitude is usually Utah's first resort to open in winter and the last to close its lifts in late spring, due to its long Alpine skiing season November to April. It boasts an average of 500" a year featuring 1200 acres, over 2,000-foot vertical rise and 8 lifts servicing 64 trails. Think Alta snow and terrain - WITHOUT LIFT LINES!

RESTAURANTS: Our Village has excellent restaurants: "Kimi’s Bistro" (family-style) outstanding brunch! & excellent dinners; "St. Bernard’s" (fine dining); and our celebrated "YURT" - it’s an adults-only dining experience deep in the woods that you won't forget! (Get resv. when you book!) The Thirsty Squirrel has a bar everyday, and Sushi on Fridays.

Stone Haus offers coffee, breakfast, sandwiches, pizza and ice cream! Home made cheeses and sausages. Stone Haus is especially important when your kids want to eat, fast.

About Susan Horvath

We have called Solitude our second home for 10 years. Our kids grew up here, and one of them is studying film at the U of Utah. Great memories in #401. We now spend 70 days a year on the other side of the village in out custom built home.

Susan Horvath purchased this townhome in 2002

Why Susan Horvath chose Utah

Great value, best snow in the US, no lift lines, super friendly locals. Easy access via Salt Lake Airport 45 minutes from Solitude.

What makes this townhome unique

Everybody comes over here from Park City on a powder day.. more snow, less people, days of untracked runs. Try staying in the summer without a moose sighting... impossible.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

Great property in a wonderful village and resort. We comfortably managed six adults and six kids, and all had a wonderful experience. The unit was stocked very well and conveniently located near all amenities. Skiing was great- very family friendly and crowds were at a minimum, particularly considering it was a "busy" holiday weekend. Solitude Snowsports Academy staff were great with the kids and very accommodating. Owner Susan very easy to work with and flexible with requests. We plan on a repeat next year- all in again!

Fantastic Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for our family, very comfortable and truly sleeps 12 with out using a pull out couch in the living area! The single beds in the loft area accommodated our 3 grandsons with room to spare. Great location. Everyone loved having such easy access to the slopes and lifts. Kids loved the outdoor pool and the adults loved the Thirsty Squirrel! Cant wait to go back

Solid Solitude Rental

  • 4 of 5

We love Solitude!! Perfect place for 7 families to rent their own units and have a great time together. This is a nice sized unit close to the slopes. A few things for renters to note: The "2 car garage" will only fit one normal sized car and if you have a Suburban (we had two) you'll be lucky to get one of them in the garage (we had to park diagonally). The house layout is nice but be aware that the upper loft with "bonus Queen Bedroom" does not have a door to the "bedroom" and neither does the additional "den" sleeping area with the sleeper sofa. The loft bunk room was great and accommodated a bunch of kids. Overall a solid place to stay but we wish that the layout and size of the garage had been made more clear. Susan the owner was good to deal with.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a week at Solitude. Condo was beautiful. Very well equipped to handle 12 of us. Owner was very helpful with tips about weather and transportation to condo, even general info about the area. Solitude village is so cute. Kids loved going to Club Solitude and even us adults enjoyed it. We skied Solitude and Brighton, which is only 3 miles up the road. We even saw Moose on the drive up the canyon!

Solitude-amazing townhouse

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for a long ski weekend (Wed-Sunday) in January absolutely great place. We were 6 adults, 2 teens and 3 children - very comfortable (loved the room with the 4 beds) - great layout with the 3 floors! SO close to the lifts, restaurants, pool & hot tub…especially love the free smors' on Saturday late afternoon by the iceskating rink!!! The amenities were perfect in the house - we cooked breakfast and dinner every night-kitchen had more than enough of everything. I especially like the real fireplace-made a fire every night!

We will hopefully be back!

Great condo!

  • 5 of 5

We were 6 adults and 4 kids/1 infant and had a great stay at this condo. It's very close to the chairlift (5 mins walk) and restaurants, pool and spa. Very comfortable stay. We loved solitude and will definitely come back next year if our schedule allows. I would stay at this condo again! Very comfortable and has a washer dryer so you can pack lightly. We cooked most nights and it was no problem in the fully stocked kitchen. (Pots pans cooking utensils). We had a great stay!
