Great Weekend

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was very accommodating and comfortable. Owners are excellant to work with. Next door neighbor dogs are real "barkers", but episodes are generally not long. The driveway incline can be somewhat challenging, especially if you arrive and previous guest have already left ruts that have to be overcome from the start. The alternative parking below the cabin is a nice alternative, if guest age does not come into play for the treck up the drive to the front door. Deck is wonderful. All-in-all, very enjoyable and certainly as advertised.

I would bring my family back to this cabin again. It is extremely important to follow the owners instructions from everything to WiFi codes to parking instructions. The weather was mild so we did not need chains but it might be a difficult pathway to navigate during inclement weather. However, for an experienced snow driver, it should be fine. The home felt like a "home." Nicely decorated and tastefully furnished. I only have three critiques, one of which is beyond the control of the owners. Upon entry of the cabin, our olfactory senors were overloaded with an excess of fragrances. Luckily we did not bring one of our children who has asthma. We had to shut the auto expelled fragrance unit as well as unplug the four fragrance plugins. Secondly, if the owners were to invest more money into the the unit, I would recommend putting in a larger water heater. There was not enough hot water for two much less four people. You have to stagger your showers. Lastly, the neighbor has four dogs and three of them do love to bark. The bedrooms are built opposite the the dogs but you can still hear them. The owners do have white noise machines in each of the bedrooms to help with the barking. In all honesty, it was impossible to use the patio because the canines seemed to have motion detectors and would bark regardless of how quiet we tried to be when sitting on the patio. We eventually gave up on the outdoor area. However, we primarily went to ski so it was not a big deal. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE COVERED DRIVEWAY. Follow the owner's instructions. Take 30 minutes to read all the literature sent to you before arrival. We loved the board games and the the inclusion of the play station can be helpful if you have a down day. We did not travel to New Mexico to watch TV but the unit had Satellite and a good WiFi system.

Owner's Response: In all our time spent at the cabin, our experiences have been that the dog bark when you pull in the driveway and as you unload from the car. The more time spent at the cabin, the less they bark as they adjust to having people there. They will bark if there in another dog or deer outside of the fence from them. We have never had issues with them barking while we are on the deck and have always gotten to enjoy the deck. One time, we had a problem with them barking at night when other neighbors were up late and being loud, the dogs were barking at them. We called law enforcement to come and have it addressed.

Beautiful Cabin and view...

  • 5 of 5

First time we spend New Year eve in Ruidoso and this cabin made it special. Cabin was super clean, great view, no issues. Me and my family loved the cabin and it has an amazing view. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to have a great time and expect to feel like home. The communication between the owners is fantastic, very helpful. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your amazing cabin. Looking forward to renting the cabin many more times.

Best find in Ruidoso

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. The feeling when you walk in the door is one of being home. There was not one thing missing in the kitchen or bathrooms. We enjoyed the deck which looked out over the tops of the trees. The only negative had nothing to do with the cabin but had everything to do with barking dogs next door, which was almost constant and obnoxious.

Wonderful owners

  • 5 of 5

We were unable to occupy this property due to health problems but Trenda was great working with us and gave great customer service. She always answered our calls or emails. You won't find a better owner to work with. I would recommend this property to younger adults. Older people might find the location and driveway difficult to maneuver. I would say be sure to read all the reviews.

The 5 stars go to owner satisfaction!

We would recommend the house to others. Trinda's communication was great!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay with our three grandkids very much. The house worked great for us. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching occasional deer and hummingbirds. The parking was very tricky and could not get up the steep narrow driveway to get under the small carport so we parked in small parking area in front of the house. That too is a bit tricky to get into but we managed it. The neighbors dogs were barkers but we had read the reviews and were aware of them. They still bark at times in the night and you do still hear them inside at night. Had noisy neighbors behind and above the house one night and they enjoyed making the dogs bark until after 1:30 am. But thank goodness that was only one night. They may have been renters too and may not always be there. Can't blame the house for that. We made day trips to White Sands Nat'l Monument, Alto Lake and Smokey Bear Museum. Drove up the road to Bonita Lake and the kids played in the stream and hiked up a trail. We had a very nice time and would stay again.
