This 812 square foot, pet-friendly, non-smoking townhouse (which we have named 'Just Right') on Okaloosa Island is the best bargain on the Gulf Coast with Spring and Summer weekly rates of only $500 and Spring and Summer nightly rates of only $80 (minumum stay of 4 nights). THERE IS NO CLEANING FEE.

The top floor loft bedroom features a king-size bed (see photo), a full bath and a washer and dryer. On the newly tiled ground level first floor is the kitchen, the living room and a half bath. The living room sofa pulls out into a queen size bed. This unit also has a ground level fenced-in patio area (20' X 16') with a BBQ grill. The fenced in area is popular with dog owners as an outdoor break area. The unit has high-speed internet with wi-fi capability

There is a view (see photo) of Santa Rosa Sound (the Intercoastal Waterway) from the upper floor bedroom and balcony from which you can watch the boat traffic. It is a quick four minute walk (with one road to cross) over the boardwalk - see photo (or a one minute drive to the beach access w/parking) to enjoy the famous sugar white sand and emerald green water of the Gulf of Mexico beach.

It is a short one minute walk to the sandy shore line edge of Santa Rosa Sound (also, a great place for fishing). The fully furnished kitchen features a toaster, coffee maker, blender and microwave.

Several first class restaurants are within five minutes walking distance. Parking space for two cars.

About the owner: Jim & Shirley Simpson. We are both retired Air Force officers. During her nursing career with the Air Force, Shirley was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base and fell in love with the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area. In 1998 we were both retired,living in Austin, Texas and decided to relocate to the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area We purchased our retirement home on Okaloosa Island in 1998 and a couple of years later purchased our Okaloosa Island rental townhouse (which we have named 'Just Right'). We live about 1.5 from the townhouse and we manage it ourselves. We specialize in personal attention for our guests and work hard to provide an enjoyable vacation experience.

Why the Owner Chose Okaloosa Island, FL, USA:
Okaloosa Island is a unique area. First, we have the incomparable, beautiful snow white sand beaches. In addition, our building covenants restrict building heights to a maximum of 75 feet. As a result no building is above 6 stories in height. Also, about half of the Island is single family residences. As a result the island has a very low resident and visitor population density. Also, the access road to the Island is a dead end, so there is very low traffic. The beaches are public and all two miles of it are open to use by all. Bottom line: Beautiful beaches, low density and low traffic which results in a very family friendly environment.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
We do not charge a cleaning fee. We also provide an ample supply of items in the townhouse (paper products, detergents, soap, plastic bags) and have over 40 VHS/DVD movies in the entertainment center. We live about 1.5 miles from the townhouse and are immediately available for any needs our guests might have. Our townhouse is the only short-term rental in the townhouse complex which means a very quiet vacation. Also, it is only a 4 minute walk to the beach and 7-8 minute walks to several excellent restaurants: Old Bay Steam & Fudpuckers.
