About Marilyn Blaustein Eldin Tobias

The owners- an attorney and a pediatrician - have lived in this home over 30 years. Much of the time was spent parenting their four sons. In the '80's the family restored the home from a shingled exterior to its former glory, doing much of the work with their own hands.

The family has traveled much of the world together - visiting over 40 countries.

Perfect San Francisco experience!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for an authentic, charming San Francisco experience, staying at the Stafford House is the way to go. Perfect walking location to most points in the city. Spacious living room and and kitchen. Classic charm of an historic property with some modern amenities to make you feel relaxed. We traveled with a family of 5, young kids - teenagers and each of us appreciated the flat for different reasons and I doubt you will be disappointment with the experience of staying here. Walkable to many shops, restaurants, and local SF neighborhoods. Safe and private accommodations and responsive owners by text. Staying in a city can be a much noisier experience than you might be used to so expect some traffic at night, and doors slamming hard from your neighbors. We used a white noise machine to help drown out some of those distractions. You get much more for your $$ staying at this place than you ever will from a corporate chain without the San Francisco charm that brings you to this city in the first place. Happy Trails!

Great central location, but noisy

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our stay - loved how central it was and easy to get around. It was very noisy however - 1st night particularly bad with cars zooming by, honking and dog noises upstairs. However we got used to it and overall really enjoyed our SF stint.

Old San Francisco

  • 4 of 5

My sons said it reminded them of their student days 20 some years ago. Really lovely except for street construction noise for 2 of the days.

Stafford House was charming and spacious, close to the Painted Ladies, and Alamo Park. It was equipped with everything we needed and was within walking distance of stores and nightlife. I would stay there again.

Great apartment in amongst beautiful houses

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this apartment just down the road from Alamo square and within an easy bus ride of downtown San Francisco. Felt like stepping back in time. Apartment well-equipped and loved sitting having breakfast at the table in the round window. Owner helpful when a fuse was blown at the property and this was easily resolved. Great shops, cafes and bars close by.
