A Charming, Clean, Well Appointed, Hideaway...

My wife and I booked this vacation home over the New Year Eve holidays. It is in walking distance to all things Hillcrest , including Balboa Park and the Zoo. The cottage is located one block off University Ave, in a quiet neighborhood, hidden behind the main residence. It is safely secure with individually coded locks on gates and all doors. It is cozy and quiet. The interior of the cottage is new and sparkling clean. All new appliances, beds, furniture, linens, flooring, washer / dryer and technology that includes HD TV's ( 2 ), high speed internet, excellent cell reception, and a gas fireplace. There is even an air conditioner and privacy blinds. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, silverware, glasses, utensils, and excellent pots, pans, and sharp high quality knives. There is a K-Cup, Icoffee maker and John provided coffee and creamers. There is a toaster, blender, and microwave along with a new dishwasher, oven and stove. The rooms are bright and cheery, and the bathroom well designed and brand new and includes shampoo and conditioner, there was even a sewing kit !. The overall decor is modern and there is even a dining room that doubled as a small office for us. John even gifted us a New Years bottle of Champagne to welcome us. This is a small, well designed home perfect for two people. This VRBO owner totally gets it !! We hope to be back.

Literally a HomeAway

We walked in and it was like walking into a home away from home. I imagine this place is what the founders were thinking when they created HomeAway. We had everything we could need. And the host was amazing! He provided recommendations of places to go around town. Ask about the speakeasy in the neighborhood. Really Cool!

Great spot near the activity

Everything was clean. Great spot in Hillcrest. In the middle of everything. Liked the layout. Enough room for me or one other person. Only problem was parking. It was hard to find a spot on the street.

A lovely little house very clean and well maintained

Ideally located in the same street as where my son lives,however, there was a building construction going on right outside our bedroom window which meant that drilling and earth moving equipment began at 7.00 am each morning

I feel that we should have been made aware of this

Cottage was clean and private. Convenient location with lots of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Parking was a challenge on occasion but we did eventually always find a spot on our block. Had a great time and would definitely rent again. Thanks
