Hidden gem near beach
Clean and comfortable cottage in a great location. Owners were quick to respond to questions and needs. Well stocked kitchen with a washer and dryer in unit. Highly recommended.
Terrific cottage in prime location
We stayed in the cottage for 5 weeks. The space is very roomy with high ceilings, and the location is very private. The neighborhood is outstanding, with mostly high value homes, and has very pleasant parks and walking venues. Amy was an outstanding host and instanly responded whenever we had a question.
What a pleasure to have you both in our cottage. Thank you for the wonderful review and we look forward to seeing you again!
This is a quiet getaway, very private. Amy was very courteous, place was clean. We came in after dark so I was a little concerned about the outside stairs but it was well lit, and didn't cause any issues. I would stay here again and again!
Would not book this property again.
Dear VRBO visitors,
I spent 4 weeks in the cottage.
Well, what I liked so much are the followings:
1/ very quiet neighborhood with groceries easily accessible
2/ walking distance from the beach (20 minutes with a child of 5 years-old)
3/ perfectly clean and nice cottage, with noble wood furniture and an exquisite balcony for breakfast
4/ last but not least, remarkably well disposed landlords, very kind and helpful.
Definitely a win if you plan to stay in NP.
Felt very safe in this Newport neighborhood for 70 days during my relocation from N CA. The property is spacious, clean, quiet, maintained with care, easy hwy 55 access for my work commute, and provided start-up provisions like coffee, salt/pepper, laundry soap, etc., which were much appreciated. A quick walk down the bluff and the PCH awaits you with the Newport Harbor, all the lovely restaurants( Rusty Pelican is friendly and has a great happy hour), fancy cars, post office, and more. Other side of the PCH you're in Balboa/Lido communities and quick few blocks to the Newport Pier & beach with lots of places to explore and no car necessary. I highly recommend shopping at Fashion Island, enjoying the beach at Crystal Cove State Park ($15 entrance fee, but good at all State Parks for the day), and stopping by any of the piers for surfer and people watching. If you get to book during Halloween you're in for a special treat--this cliff top community knows how to party, be sure to bring your costume.
There is a set of approx. 10 steps down to the cottage. Laguna Art festival and the world renowned Pageant of the Masters, Newport Harbor Boat parade, Rose bowl, Los Angeles, San Diego are all nearby.
