About Flora Sanchez
My husband Sam and I were both born and raised in Albuquerque. We bought this 8 acre property in 1982. We built our home and raised our two children here. Eventually we deeded an acre to each of the children; they built their homes here and are raising our grandkids next door. Friends and family call it 'the Sanchez village'. Over time we've added several structures to the estate, most recently the recreation building (which houses the Casita along with Sam's wood shop, the RV garage, and a small gym) and the family capilla or chapel. We raise grass hay, Boer goats and Dolly Llama on the back pasture, an open space that attracts hundreds of cranes and geese here in the winter. We share small garden vegetable area with friends. Our guests are welcome to harvest fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs and flowers.

Why Flora Sanchez chose South Valley
Sam and I are both retired and have enjoyed sharing our guest house with friends and family. After our granddaughter moved into her own home we converted her transition living space to a rental and look forward to welcoming new friends to this place.
What makes this Apartment unique
Everyone who visits this property comments about how beautiful and quiet it is. The property's east boundary is a cottonwood forest that borders the Rio Grande. A 1/4 mi walk will take you to the banks of the Rio Grande River where you can enjoy the wildlife, especially birds being drawn to the Valle del Oro National Wildlife Refuge directly across the river. Walking trails connect you to three open space properties within 1 mile radius, including the historic Gutierrez Hubbell House History and Cultural Center just 1/4 mi south. We are right on the original Route 66. When ready to see more of the city an easy 7 mi drive will take you to downtown ABQ and Old Town. Balloon Fiesta Park is just another 7 mi north. Santa Fe is a quick one hour's drive as is Acoma (Sky City) Pueblo. At the end of a long day of sightseeing you'll enjoy returning to your quiet, restful abode for a soak in the hot tub, a moonlight swim, or just a cup of coffee on your own patio.

Excellent property and wonderful hosts
Nice change from sterile hotels.
It was nice to wake up in the morning and see and hear animals not traffic. Nice pool. Very nice hosts.
Fabulous and First Class
Highly recommend staying here, it's fabulous and first class with all the amenities of home. This was our first time using VRBO and we weren't disappointed. Thank you Sam, Flora and Pearl for allowing us to stay at your beautiful Casita! It was an honor and privilege to meet you and we can't thank you enough for all of your kindness and hospitality. Thank you again and be blessed. John and Sonya
Amazing Relaxation in Pajarito
We had a wonderful time unplugging and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The accommodations were perfect for my wife and I and we loved the pool area. Sam & Flora are amazing hosts and very welcoming. Highly recommend, we will be back.
Beautiful property, beautiful hosts
Flora and Sam are available to help but also give you privacy. The casita is a perfect home for a solo traveler or a couple. The property is spectacular. The driveway is a bit hard to find in the dark but Flora is only a call or text away. The full brita, washer/dryer, and large closet are bonus features, along with the pool and hot tub. The neighborhood is about a 15/20 min. drive into downtown ABQ and though I didn't go to restaurants in the area it seemed there were plenty options.
Beautiful farm setting.
Charming casita in beautiful setting. Hosts very very friendly and interesting. Lots of local information.
