This enormous Government Camp vacation rental is the perfect getaway for the whole family. With lovely accommodations for up to 18 guests, this three-story log cabin-meets-chateau in the Oregon forest is a beautiful getaway, surrounded by peaceful landscape and chock full of modern amenities including entertainment packages with WiFi, cable, and DVD players, but also a private laundry room and a roomy hot tub.
Got a bigger group than 18? Little Bear Cabin, which shares the same plot as this home, can house up to 12 more guests - view the Little Bear Cabin listing for more details.
This majestic mountain lodge is sure to impress with its leather and natural wood furnishings, which complement the logs this home is made of. Settle into the living space on the second floor on leather furniture while soft music plays, or enjoy a movie on the enormous flat screen. Head into the spacious kitchen, with modern appliances, granite countertops, and plenty of space for multiple cooks in the kitchen. Food-oriented holidays like Thanksgiving can easily be served at the banquet table set to accommodate all 18 guests without flinching.
There's so much room in this home to spread out: the master suite on the second floor has a queen bed and plenty of storage space - don't forget to wave at the bear on top of the wardrobe!
Head downstairs to the ground level, where two rooms share a full bathroom: a queen bed in each, and three twin bunk beds make this a cozy floor for a sleepover-style vacation - one room even has a small table for snacks and cards. Downstairs is also an excellent place to leave all your wet gear in the mudroom, or freshen your sweaty active wear in the laundry room.
Upstairs in the loft, you'll find four twin beds and a queen, plus a love seat facing the second large flatscreen TV.
You're welcome to bring up to four dogs along, just remember the nightly fee per dog, with an additional minimum fee per stay.
Head outside to enjoy a day of skiing at Timberline Ski Area, snowshoeing through the woods, or hiking Mt. Hood, then come back to your Mt. Hood vacation rental to soak in the hot tub - this luxurious getaway welcomes you!
Great spot for skiing and snowboarding but mattresses are too old and parking limited to two cars only.
The property was large enough for our group of 18. Kitchen amply stocked with everything we needed and then some. We loved that the stainless steel cookware and insta-hot water. Very clean and spacious. We will probably come again in the future.
Big Bear accommodates a large group as long as you are good with multiple beds in a room.
Nice place. Just needs some handyman trim work. Fantastic cabin feel, nice location to walk to town central. Great location for Mt. Hood. Would stay again.
