Guestbook comments from the manager

Your house was perfect accommodations for us during our time in the SFO area. It was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Loved the wood den--what a cozy room! With all the activities we had going on leading up to our daughter's wedding, it was a great place to unwind at the end of several frantic days. Thanks so much for making it available to us. We definitely recommend it to anyone planning a stay in the area.

Wonderful charming home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Belmont at this property. The home was comfortable and easy access between San Francisco and Palo Alto. We spent almost a week at this property and will absolutely stay again. Much better than a hotel room. The home is spotless and furniture is very comfortable. Kitchen has everything needed for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Lovely home, clean and well equipped in a safe and central location.

My husband and I traveled to the Bay area with my oldest sister and her husband who just retired. We've never traveled with them before and didn't know what to expect so honestly, having a place with some space was really important. This house was perfect. We all really enjoyed our stay in this fabulous home and we were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of wine and sparkling juice set out to welcome us. Our host, Sue, was very friendly and offered great suggestions of things to do in the area.

The house has such lovely charm with all the comforts of home and we loved it immediately; it felt like we were visiting grandma's house all welcoming, homey and comfortable. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen and how clean everything was. With two sitting rooms and sunny gardens there was lots of space for us to gather as a group to chat and catch up on the days events or to slip away to a quiet space when we needed alone time. In the mornings we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the front veranda taking in the sights and sounds of the garden and watching the butterflies visit the flowers. It was so calming and peaceful and private as from the veranda you see the garden and trees with a peek a boo view of the street. Everything in the house was very clean and the beds comfortable, with one bed being softer which appealed to one in our group. Set in a subdivision of nice family homes we found the location very quiet and safe, and ideally located just down the street was a small shopping complex with a grocery and liquor store and coffee shops. The location also allowed for reasonably easy access to both I-280 and the 101. We will definitely try to book to stay again next time we come to the San Francisco area.

A home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

My family of five has stayed at this home for the past three to four summers, each time staying for a week or two. The house is cozy, well-maintained, and truly charming. You can tell that the owners really care about the house and the comfort of those staying there, as they have made numerous improvements during the past few years, such as installing a new washer/dryer and a new flat screen TV in the living room. Despite it being an older home, everything works perfectly. There is easy access to two major freeways (101 and 280) and a supermarket right down the hill, but the neighbourhood itself is very quiet. On our last night on the way back to the house, we even saw two deer crossing the street! We enjoy staying at this lovely home and are already looking forward to next summer!

Home away from home

  • 4 of 5

Although the house is older construction it is kept up extremely well with newer appliances, newer windows and treatments, fresh paint and all the conveniences. Sue provides most everything you'll need for a comfortable stay, including beach towels, a washer/dryer with laundry supplies, and a juicer and extra sugar to take advantage of the lemon tree out back! She hung around to meet us when we got in from the airport which was nice, and then provided all kinds of insider info for us newbie visitors to San Francisco. The drive to downtown is fairly quick although traffic is heavy, and fast, wherever you go. Be prepared for a Nascar-like experience as you see the sights in the area! We would stay here again.

The "house on the hill" was spacacious, a full kitchen, and beach towels for our outing. The lovely gardens made the porch a perfect setting for morning coffee. We found our stay very comfortable.

Charming and comfortable home, near to stores, surrounded by roses

  • 5 of 5

Our family (two parents working at Stanford, two teenagers on vacation) stayed in this charming house for our fourth time this summer. The home has been in the Badgett family for decades, now rented out permanently and lovingly tended by family members. Comfortably carpeted throughout the living areas, the house contains several older, “character” furniture pieces with carefully crafted textiles to complement them. The kitchen is better appointed than many in which we have stayed, with a new ceramic-top cooker and many tools and gadgets. The new High Efficiency washing machine with dryer is an excellent upgrade. The two bathrooms are clean and bright, furnished with copious linens as well as shampoo and body wash.

The garden affords secluded spots to sit and enjoy the summer sunshine and breezes, including a porch at the front and a picnic table and chairs out back. In July, the garden is a riot of roses, with fresh herbs and lemons for the picking. The garden is also lovingly tended by the family, an attention that has paid off in beautiful displays of color and scent for visitors to share.

Centrally located on the peninsula, the house gives very easy access to 280 and 101, the freeways that run its length between San Francisco, San Jose and beyond. It is also extremely easy to take 92 over the mountains to the pacific coast; turn southwards to beat the ocean mist and to find some of the most beautiful golden sand beaches one can imagine. If public transport is preferred, the stop for the local bus is just steps away, and the station for Caltrain, the commuter train which connects to San Francisco to San Jose, is about 30 a minute walk away. Closer to home, there is an excellent shopping center within walking distance down the hill, with restaurants, coffee and bagel shops, and two supermarkets, one selling specialty Italian and other goods.

This comfortable house has become for us quite literally a “home from home”, one to which we hope to return whenever business brings our family back again to the Bay Area. Whether you are visiting the peninsula for a business trip or for a vacation, we hope you enjoy this exceptional home as much as we do.
