About The Cozy Cottage of Winchester * Stacy Bromley-Wenger

Why The Cozy Cottage of Winchester * Stacy Bromley-Wenger chose Winchester

This charming little house has a way of relaxing you within seconds. You are away from everything yet not needing anything! I call the cottage 'My Serenity' because it truly is just that.

We successfully rented this sweetheart out as a vacation rental five years ago. Due to travel requirements for my job, I wasn't able to continue renting it as such. Our full-timers moved out in January and the renovations began immediately. Since our original page was deleted, I will be asking past guests to kindly post reviews.

What makes this cottage unique

Oh my gosh, stay just once and you can fill in this blank.

EXTREMELY RELAXING!

  • 5 of 5

A very secluded get away that my husband and I enjoyed thoroughly. We went down into town the first evening and purchased all groceries needed for all meals. Everything we needed to cook was there for our use to include utensils/pot & pans AND pyrex dishes!

There's even a good assortment of spices and such for guests to use. We ate dinner each night on the deck followed by relaxation in the hot tub. The beds were very comfortable as were the sofas & chairs.

Stacy and I chatted via text/email several times and she was always very prompt and so accommodating! Thanks so very much for sharing your home with us!

secluded cabin for a calm getaway

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay in Winchester. The town is only about a 20 min drive down the mountain, but the cabin itself is so secluded you cannot see or hear any neighbors. Downtown Winchester offered some unique family restaurants, and we took advantage of the short hour and a half drive to Washington D.C. Stacey was very kind and easy to work with and the cabin was clean. Highly recommended! I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most relaxing get away at the cozy cottage. The cottage was soooo clean and beautifully decorated. The cottage is pet friendly, but you could never tell that a pet had ever been in there. That’s how clean it was! Our expectations were definitely exceeded! Our dog had the BEST time running around in the yard and hanging out on the deck. The hot tub was amazing, the beds/couches were super comfortable and the view from the deck was lovely. I will recommend this place to all my friends and family. We also hope to return!!!

Lovely house

  • 5 of 5

Great house with all the necessary and comforting amenities. Beautiful view, comfortable beds, a relaxing hot tub, nice kitchen, and electronic entertainment (tv, stereo, etc). We also took advantage of the grill for a pleasant summer evening barbecue. Definitely going to come back!

Stunning cottage and great owners!

  • 5 of 5

The Cozy Cottage was wonderful! The stay was exactly as hoped! Tranquil, soothing, and secluded. It is a great getaway and I got plenty of writing done while enjoying the views and the cozy wood stove. The house is beautiful and well maintained with many special touches that made for a wonderful welcome. In fact, the interior doors have a style of knobs and locks that hold great sentimental value for me.

It was about 68° outside on arrival, fell to around 20° before midnight due to a huge cold front with high winds and driven rain, and the wind chill was 1° by the end of the weekend. The Cozy Cottage remained delightfully cozy the entire time.

Stacy was absolutely wonderful to communicate with before the stay, and when I needed to chat with her during it to address a minor issue from the wind storm. I don’t remember ever seeing the above-and-beyond hospitality and genuine warmth from property owners as I did from Stacy and her husband.

“Cozy Cottage “

Beautiful time of the year to enjoy the Shenandoah mountains… The cabin was located in a very convenient location to see all the areas we were interested. Every morning was enjoyed in the hot tub watching the sunrise and looking at the view! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your cozy cottage!

Cleaning Fee $100
Property Damage Insurance $59

So you want to get away for a weekend? You send an inquiry and anxiously await an answer. I will always do my best to keep reservations on a first-come first-serve basis. However, inquiries do not reserve a property. Please keep in mind that HomeAway is a customer driven system. If another customer reserves the property with a payment, you could easily lose your slot if the owner accepts the payment. As a property owner, I do my best to watch for such instances however I am human after all...and mistakes can happen.

Along the lines of being human; accidents happen. However, when these accidents happen it can halt future reservations or cancel another renter's reservation. Due to recent damages to our home, we feel it is necessary to require a Property Damage Protection Policy. The policy protects both of us in the event of an accident.

The cleaning fee is non-refundable. This does not suggest for you to not pick up after yourself. The $100 fee is quite modest as it barely covers to cost of a two person crew. Please do not make it difficult to turn the house over for the next set of guests. Imagine your disappointment if you were the arriving guests after a destructive party weekend. The cleaning crew will need to delay your entry until the house is ready.

I have often been asked about discounts. As a wife of a veteran and the child of a police officer, I do understand your request. However, our rates are based on other homes' rental rates and our operating expenses. As the potential renter, please advise me if your budget does not afford the full amount up front. I will gladly accept an installment plan of up to three payments. I will also refund your money should you change your mind prior to your stay.

With all of that said....

Isn't it time to get away?!
