Adorable cottage, amazing location
We had a group of ten stay for two nights and wish we had stayed longer! We loved Kinsale and this part of Ireland was the highlight of our travels through the country.
Laura and Yvonne are very responsive and Laura was so sweet and welcoming when meeting us at check-in. She recommended several restaurants, which we tried, and her recommendations were stellar - the best meals we had in Ireland. We also cooked one night and just enjoyed the house. There is a pub walking distance from the cottage, but for most other things, a car is necessary to drive the ten minutes into Kinsale.
We had three children age four and under with us, and we had a baby gate with us, which was helpful for the stairs, but otherwise the house is very child-friendly.
We will definitely return to Kinsale and hopefully to this property at Old Head. The views and being on the Irish beaches are not something you can get just anywhere.
Perfect and beautiful
Stayed here with my family and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Stunning views, plenty of space. Outstanding.
Not in the thick of the hustle and bustle of Kinsale and well worth the stay. Such a beautiful and welcoming home. Thank you Laura for the lemon bread you made us. What a nice touch! You have the peace and tranquility of the countryside with easy bus and taxi access to Kinsale and the local pub in walking distance. A perfect combination!!!
Enjoyed staying at this property
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of Ireland. Would definitely return.
Great experience and the cottage was immaculate. Would definitely return again.
A great place to stay. The home was clean, cute, and convenient.
We would do it again.
20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of beautiful Kinsale, the Old Head is considered one of Ireland's most treasured stretches along the Wild Atlantic Way. The views are breathtaking, with options for long, medium and sort walks around the Old Head, towards the old lighthouse and new Golf Course. The Beaches (Blue Flag) are known for their wild waves, perfect for surfing and bodyboarding yet also suitable for swimming and walking. Pitch and Putt club directly across the road from the beach with surf schools open most of the year. Garretstown Woods is ideal for trail walking, full of history and evelated grounds overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The local, well known pub/ restaurant ' The Speckled Door' provides an ideal setting for an early evening dinner or a long night of old Irish drinking and singing. Grocery shops, butcher and deli, close by (2 miles).
