Our home on the private Old Lazy Bar S Ranch is a unique and amazing place to stay on your vacation. Located one mile off of scenic Highway 89, there are no other houses or cabins in site. Easy access off of a paved road, and only 40 miles from either Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks, this mountain home is the perfect home base! Our home is nestled against ponderosa pine covered hills (which you can hike on) with beautiful views of pink cliffs and a natural mountain lake.
Our 3,300 sq. foot home is spacious, clean, and beautiful. There are ground entries to both the upper and lower levels. Located on the upper level are the great room, kitchen and dining area, master bedroom with adjoining bathroom, and laundry room. The kitchen is fully equipped plus there is a second refridgerator in the laundry room. Windows in the great room and dining area offer AMAZING views of the surrounding mountains, fields and lake. Located on the lower level are two bedrooms, a bathroom, sitting area, and large family room complete with piano, cable TV, video games, exercise equipment ,and view.
Soak in the sun through the cathedral windows, or enjoy the shade while you swing on the glider of the covered deck. HIKE in the hills behind the cabin. Enjoy roasting a marshmallow or hotdog in the fire pit, and make sure you stay up late enough to see the billions of STARS in the night sky. Chances are high that you will see DEER grazing in the fields, EAGLES soaring high in the BRILLLIANT BLUE SKY, and wild DUCKS, geese, and other water fowl on the lake.
There is a king-sized bed in the master bedroom, a queen-sized bed in a second bedroom, a queen-sized bed in a third bedroom, and a full-sized bed and queen bed in the fourth bedroom. There are also two queen-size self-inflating air mattresses available with plenty of floor space for them in the family room. A portable crib and high chair are also available upon request. There is one full bathroom downstairs and one full bathroom upstairs.
NO SMOKING AND SORRY, NO PETS
This is a perfect base camp for seeing the national parks in Southern Utah as well as a great place for anyone just wanting to get away from it all. If you love the outdoors, PRIVACY, and the feel of peace, you will love our place!

About Tracy Camit
My husband and I started our family in Hawaii where he was born and raised. We've lived on the mainland for 24 years now. I am a homemaker, retired RN, and outdoor enthusiast. I love hiking, biking, exercising, and gardening. My husband is a consultant and enjoys tinkering on his '84 CJ7. We have four children and a black lab named Harley. I trained for my first century bike race on the roads around the ranch. I LOVE Zion National Park and continue to hike there. If you love the outdoors, you will love our place!
Tracy Camit purchased this Cabin in 2008
Why Tracy Camit chose Alton
The Lazy Bar S Ranch is 0ver 100 years old. Before there was even a home here we came here for family reunions, horseback riding, and cattle branding. My parents built the cabin in 1997 and added on to it to make it big enough to live in in 2004. We purchased it from them in 2008 with plans to live there indeffinitely, but chose to move to Las Vegas in 2011 to be closer to family. Because the idea of selling our home didn't feel right, we decided to keep it and use it as a vacation rental so that we can still spend time at this amazing place.
What makes this Cabin unique
You truly feel like you've left the world behind when you stay at our home on the old Lazy Bar S Ranch. Delicious homemade bread and cookies provided for all of our guests.

Beautiful home perfect place to relax!
HOME - Awesome! This is a beautiful home to relax and unwind--definitely with plenty of room. Modern amenities with all the things you need to have a wonderful vacation. We took advantage of the crock pot -- quickly created beef stew in the morning and ready when we arrived. We took advantage of the smart tv with NetFlix to unwind. It's a good place to be with family and friends. You can also hike up into the hills via this property (we found some old cars "cemetery.") The homemade bread with the equally awesome jam was a treat for everyone. Can I have the recipe for the jam please?
LOCATION: The place is in between Bryce and Zion, but do expect an approximate 45 minute drive each way. We stayed here for 4 days. The one thing good about staying in this place is it gave us the flexibility to decide (or to change your mind) where to go and for how long. (We weren't sure if we wanted to go 2 days at Bryce or Zion.) We ended up relaxing for 1 day at the Ranch, 1 day at Bryce, 1 day at Zion, and 1 day at Cedar City (the closest "major" city). For those who are "city folks" please note that this is in a remote location, so don't expect major cities nearby.
All in all, I would recommend this place! All my friends were glad that I found this place for us to have our vacation. By the way, Tracy (the owner) is very responsive. Awesome host! Thanks for letting us stay in your home.
We had a great time. The house and property are very nice and perfectly located to all of the sites.
Beautiful property nestled in between Bryce Canyon and Duck Creek.
Absolutely beautiful property. We were welcomed with a handwritten note, cinnamon bread and jam. The home was emaculate, so clean! The owners have obviously done incredible research about what people like because there was not one need that wasn't met. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, bakeware, pots, pans, bowls, crock pot, etc. Instead of the typical 8-10 glasses there were over 20 glasses; this was the same with the plates and bowls. Fun decorative pieces were also present- telescope, old sewing machine table, piano, old fashioned telephone. The beds had beautiful linens and a plethora of pillows in each room. The best place we've stayed in by far!
GREAT AS IT LOOKS!!!
It was clean spacious quiet most of all great view from the main living room was fantastic.
Everything I need was there equipped. All I need was tooth brush as I told my members.
In a word ,It was great !!!!!.
Great location to visit Zion and Bryce parks. Home is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Cooked all our dinners in and enjoyed relaxing after long days of hiking. Lovely views!
Beautiful vacation retreat
Our family celebrated our son's high school and college graduation with a trip to several of the national parks of the Southwest. Lazy Bar S Ranch was certainly a highlight as it was the nicest VRBO we've ever rented. The setting was so serene and peaceful, and we loved gazing at the night skies after our long days of hiking and other outdoor activities. The house was immaculate and had every amenity we needed. The layout was also great for our family group of 8. We ate our breakfasts and dinners in the fully equipped kitchen and were so thankful we didn't have to spend extra money on restaurants, etc. and could focus the dollars on exploring the gorgeous landscapes that were within 50 minutes in very direction (Zion/Bryce). Thanks again, Tracy, for allowing us to use your beautiful home :)
