Best location on Pensacola Beach and newly renovated!! Whether you're looking for a fun family vacation or a private romantic 'get-away.'
Your large private deck (seating ten) overlooks the calming turquoise waters and white sandy beaches of Santa Rosa Sound. Relax and read in morning sun or watch the kids playing at the shore just steps away. The water is shallow for at least 100 yards out and waves are gentle. The Sound is perfect for all sorts of water sports or just sunbathing. Rear deck faces northwest for spectacular sunsets. Front deck faces Fort Pickens Road (two lane) and the Gulf of Mexico.
The San DeLuna property (32 townhouses on five acres) is adjacent to Fort Pickens National Seashore, a federal preserve of ten miles of unspoiled beaches. You can easily walk (300 yards) from the Gulf of Mexico beaches on the south to the calmer Santa Rosa Sound beaches on the north. Its like having your own private beach for shelling, walking, fishing, sunbathing, birding, dolphin watching, and more.
In the other direction is plenty of entertainment with fantastic seafood restaurants, shopping, nightlife, deep-sea fishing, go-carts, miniature golf, and public fishing pier. Just for fun you can rent jet-skis, bikes, kayaks, scooters, and 'fun cars.' A free trolley-bus (Memorial Day to Labor Day) stops every half hour in front of the property to take you there. Also a paved walking, biking, and jogging path runs the entire length of Pensacola Beach.
Your luxurious townhouse includes covered parking for three vehicles and two floors of spacious living area. Both floors are newly decorated in relaxing beach colors. The downstairs consists of the living room, dining room, kitchen, half bath, laundry, storage, and decks. The living room has a 36 inch LCD flat screen with HBO/cable/DVD and two sleeper sofas.
Upstairs is master bedroom with king-size bed, 21 inch TV with HBO/cable/DVD, jacuzzi tub, and beautiful view of sound, pool, tennis courts, and Gulf of Mexico from large window wall. Second bedroom has queen bed with TV with HBO/cable and view of Gulf of Mexico. Both bedrooms have 'full' baths and ample closet space.
Overall the location is great, and while the unit has a few flaws, I thought it was a good value; I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it.
Sue was easy to deal with and very responsive to questions/issues (of which there was only one with the WIFI). Check-in/out was a breeze.
As it appears in photos. Nice view of sound from rear deck with awesome sunsets. Could not find an umbrella for the table so the patio was not really usable in the late afternoon when the sun hit it; it’s semi-private as the patio for the unit next door is right beside it. Each unit has an outdoor shower head and hose so cleaning up after the beach is a breeze.
Of note, the walls are pretty thin if the people next door are being loud at all; if you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.
The condo is in dire need of a paint job and gives what is otherwise a very cute place a bit of a run-down feel. The furniture is showing some wear, however, there’s a set of green bedsheets that work perfect as furniture covers for the couch and love seat.
Speaking of sheets, ALL linens were put away not damp, but wet. Luckily I noticed it soon after arriving and put a couple of loads back in the dryer otherwise they would have been very moldy. This was obviously not the owner’s fault. Keeping in mind that there is a $125 linens fee, a few of the towels are stained and should have been retired, I set them aside in hopes that the cleaning people would replace them.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Bathrooms are small but efficient.
NOTE – this unit has no landline. If you’re visiting from Canada, you may need a US phone plan added to your mobile phone unless you Facetime/WhatsApp etc. If you need 911, hopefully you’re still able to convey the address so emergency services can find you!
The sound side has calm water and a narrow beach that you can take a nice stroll along toward Fort Pickens. Often you will see dolphins fishing close to shore. The Gulf side (pictured in ad) is a quick walk and beautiful with miles of nice white sand and not crowded at all. The unit came with lots of chairs, though they are a bit worn, I choose to grab new ones at Walmart in Gulf Breeze along with a beach umbrella which didn't cost much.
Nice pool and common area, there are only 10 loungers to service all of the units. This wasn’t a problem during my stay as it was not overly busy, but might be during high season.
Sue was amazing to work with! Condo qas perfect as far as space and location. Had a great experience, already planning next years trip.
Our family with 3 boys ages 10-16 had something to do our entire stay. Loved the calmness and sea life to explore on the sound side while having the excitement of the gulf waves a short walk away. The kayaks were a bonus to our stay as well. The accommodations of the condo itself were perfect for us. Any family would enjoy this spot! Can't wait to return!
Very nice place. Very clean, had everything we needed including a washer and dryer. Plenty of beach chairs, lift jackets, even a canoe. We discovered Fort Pickens and their lovely beaches as well. Very clear water and not the crashing waves. Would highly recommend. Sue make check in a breeze. We showed up at the house and used the combination to open the lock that held they keys. That simple. Loved the food at PegLeg Pete's, the Grouper and Red Snapper were the best. Defiantly would recommend Sue's place to stay on your next vacation.
This is our favorite week of the year!!! We have been coming to here for the past 3 years and it's perfect! The condo is so well cared for and is in the perfect location! We enjoy the beach both sound and gulf by day and then hop on the trolley on the evening for dinner!! Just perfect! Not to mention the best person to rent from, Sue!! I could not recommend this place enough! But not too much still want my week to be open ; )
So firstly, I feel like we paid A LOT of money. I understand it was peak season, but still. I'm sure this condo is right on point price wise with others. I just feel that that pricing in general is out of line. As for the condo itself, at first glance it was great. After closer look, not so much. The condo is filthy. The grout throughout the first floor and in upper bathrooms is black. The carpet/rug under the dining table smells like someone peed on it. The cabinet under the sink smells like death (pretty sure the trash can itself needs to be washed out). We went to use the pullout sofa and decided to put the cushions back on before we even unfolded the bed because there was so much nasty stuff under the couch cushions. There are 2 broken light fixture globes in the kitchen area. The walls throughout are scuffed up in various places. And over the stairs, the very top air vent is covered in mold. Also be careful when moving the pipe that blocks the sliding door because your hands will have black stuff on them which may or may not end up on your face like it did with us. You are expected to empty all trash and take to outside receptacles, load and start the dishwasher, strip the beds and leave linens by the door, and start a load of towels "if possible" as you depart. That combined with the filth issues makes me wonder what exactly the cleaning crew does. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with everything you need to cook EXCEPT flat baking pans. We did breakfast one morning and had to go out and buy disposable pans to cook our biscuits on. The listing photos show a hammock which we never did find. There is a telescope but it kept falling apart. There are kayaks available to use though we never did. The photo of the ocean view from the deck is very accurate. It was extremely close to access the beach and that part was great!! Also the pool is wonderful. We ended up spending a lot of time there. The sunset views from the deck are amazing. The owner is super friendly and responded to every question really fast during the looking and booking stages. I would venture to guess she isn't aware of the cleanliness issues.
