About Tim Resch

I have been an outfitter for 29 years and have been in the Estes area for 35 years. This is my 'Jeremiah Johnson' dream cabin that needs to be shared. I offer summer horseback rides, fall hunting, and winter snowcat tours as well as back country snowshoe/skiing activities from this property.

Tim Resch purchased this house in 2003

Why Tim Resch chose Front Range

This is a one in a million piece of property right outside of Estes and totally off the grid. It is only an hour and 20 minutes from Denver International Airport.

What makes this house unique

While town is only 6 miles away, getting to and from is a true adventure in itself. I can easily go a week without seeing anyone else. Sitting on the deck in the morning with a good cup of coffee and no sound at all except the wildlife is a soul changing experience.

Some days are active with every conceivable outdoor winter activity right on property, but others are curl up with a book and watch the snow fall.

Great mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautiful place to stay with amazing views and an awesome host, Tim. We traveled to Estes Park with our family and were able to stay here for 2 nights, wish we could have stayed longer. This place is so wonderful, full of the outdoors, beautiful horses, amazing views, and seclusion. Our daughters loved helping with the horses, adventurous ATV rides, and hanging out with the dog, Hank. It does take a 4 wheel vehicle to get to this magical place, and just when you think you are just about there... You have a little farther to drive but it was well worth the adventure. It's so hard to describe this place, everything in it has so much history and meaning behind it. Loved listening to all the stories Tim shared with us. You can hike for miles and see so many breathtaking views. We miss this most amazing place and host. We are looking forward to our next stay here!

Unique retreat

  • 5 of 5

What a magical place! We just returned from a 3 night stay at this hidden gem, and I miss it already. The setting is breathtaking, the cabin is well stocked and the host is warmly engaging as well as extremely helpful ( he loaned us one of his cars when our rental wouldn't start). Yes, the road in is challenging for us flat landers, but the trek is well worth it. The cabin is decorated with loving care and most of the pieces has special meaning. Ask for the back stories!

We have stayed in numerous cabins and other vacation rentals, and I have to say that I have never seen one so well stocked or gotten to know the owner so well. It was a great experience all around. We have an adventurous and responsible 10 year old, and the property was great for her, but I wouldn't bring very young children to the cabin.

The beds were very comfortable as was the rest of the house. Wish I could have lingered longer.

Like Nothing Else

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent Memorial Day weekend at Tim's cabin. This place is absolutely like nothing else we've ever experienced. The cabin is on a mountain top with sweeping views of snow-capped peaks and miles of pine forests. There are no other cabins anywhere nearby and you can truly feel the magic of the wilderness. At the same time, the cabin has all the amenities you could ever ask for. Soaring ceilings, satellite radio, satellite TV, HBO, full kitchen, elegant dining area, premium propane grill, and a large wood burning stove make the cabin feel cozy yet spacious and luxurious. Tim, the owner, will make you feel at ease and treat you like family. You are a 15 minute scenic drive from Estes. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return.

Experience of a Lifetime

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place that has all the comforts of home but with the rustic feel of a mountain lodge. Tim met us at the gate and led the way up the mountain (4-wheel drive recommended) to his home. This experience was enjoyed by the family and the beginning of our adventure at 9000 feet.

The lodge was full of history which Tim was happy to share. We also enjoyed the amenities on the property; fire pit, hiking, outdoor shooting range, and the many other happening around which you can only experience by taking some time out of your everyday life and reserving a few days away at this location.

We enjoyed sharing time with Tim and side kick “Hankster the Prankster” – Tim’s dog. We will stay here again sometime in the future and recommend for anyone wishing to live/feel the real Colorado mountain experience.

We can't wait to come back!

  • 5 of 5

This was the absolute perfect place off the beaten path. I agree with the comments above, getting there is an adventure in itself and a 4 wheel drive is a must! We were greeted by Tim, the owner and he escorted us to the property. Good thing, because I don't think we would have found it. I cant say enough wonderful things about Tim. He is cowboy, mountain man all wrapped into one. He is so kind, friendly and greatly entertaining. We enjoyed his hospitality immensely.

The cabin is beautifully appointed, not your typical rental but truly a home away from home. Its cozy and warm with beautiful furniture and decor. Everything in the cabin has a story. The views are spectacular. Coffee in the morning on the deck and drinks in the evening were awesome. My husband and son took advantage of the shooting range located not far from the cabin.

Activities from the cabin were plentiful. The hiking from the cabin to twin sisters peak was a true adventure! Tim also has horseback riding packages available. I highly recommend this ride. It is quite different than most trail rides. Tim puts you own his own personal string of horses! They are suitable for all levels. My son and husband have very little experience riding, but my daughter and I are experience. Tim matched us up well with our riding experience. Tim markets the rides as historical because he takes you past some historical old buildings. While that was interesting, the highlight was the scenery and the vistas that you will only experience on horseback!

We will book early for next year!

Mountain fun

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Estes Park cabin. The owner Tim could not have been nicer and his cabin was beautiful and most comfortable. The cabin was very private and we definitely needed our Jeep to get to the cabin which was a fun adventure in itself. This cabin rental is for people who want to get the "real" Colorado experience. If you want to have a restaurant or Starbucks around the corner don't rent this place! Sitting on the deck with our morning coffee and evening glass of wine with just the sounds of nature was a highlight. Our adult children appreciated the satellite radio, internet and dish TV.
