About Jyl Bayer

We live in the Bay Area. My husband is an CAL engineer and I am a NM geologist. We moved to the area to be near family. We have one daughter and a grandpuppy named Grizzly who is 1/2 border collie and 1/2 husky. We are an outdoorsy family who enjoy skiing, hiking, climbing and drinking wine.

Jyl Bayer purchased this house in 2002

Why Jyl Bayer chose Gold Country & High Sierra

We love our mountain retreat - all year round. It is a welcome escape from life's hustle and bustle. It is a very accommodating place and over the years we have had family get together's where the kids put all of the trundle bed mattresses on the floor in a slumber party style. We have had friends visit and even a yoga retreat.

What makes this house unique

This Spring offers a special treat. For the first time in years the intermittent creek is running. So in addition to views of the forest and Sierra Nevada wildlife there is the sound of a babbling brook. The peace and quiet are wonderful. In winter, snowman building, sledding or snowboarding down the hillside in winter. Hiking on the forest trail uphill from the house. Summer flea markets. Hanging out at the Blue Lake Springs Club House eating hot dogs, swimming in the pool or lake, watching movies, playing shuffle board and tennis. Mountain biking. Dog surprised by deer. Bear Valley stress free family skiing/snowboarding. Columbia State Park - stage coach ride and panning for gold. Murphys for wine tasting, shopping, and ice cream. Attend concerts at the Ironstone winery or Bear Valley Music Festival. Calaveras Big Trees State Park anytime!
