We are very private, enjoy walking, whale and turtle watching, painting, golfing. We have 3 grown children and live in Waikiki.
Kay purchased this condo in 2006
We fell in love with Poipu Sands from the moment we first saw it. Its proximity to the beach and the Grand Hyatt (next door) are hard to beat. We love to walk and the concrete foot paths that interconnect Poipu Sands to the local resorts, golf course, restaurants, shops and scenic views were a real selling point. Our particular unit is the desirable 2-story 'townhouse style' condo with an upstairs master suite.
The sound of ocean waves from our master bedroom, whale-watching from our lanai, Hawaiian furnishings and original art make for a relaxing and enjoyable stay at this very spacious 1,400 SF unit.
This is our first visit to Kauai. What a paradise!
Poipu Poipu and the oceanfront lighted sidewalks brought so many walks to see the sea turtles, birds and other wildlife.
The condo was so beautifully decorated with the excellent art work and we appreciated the beach chairs, snorkeling gear and coolers. We couldn't believe that you even had boogie boards!
Thank you for the dream vacation. Many wonderful memories.
My husband, 4 yo daughter and mother very much enjoyed our stay at this condo. The space works very well and allowed everyone to spread out and have their downtime (balcony, living room, bedrooms, pool or beach). The condo is very clean and functions well. It's on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a 3 story condo complex with ample parking. We enjoyed the view of the greenbelt from the living room and peekaboo ocean view from the balcony. It allowed for many nice morning coffees. We also observed gardeners working away on the grounds everyday. During our stay there was a constant lulling breeze through the condo.
The condo has lots of beach gear: towels, chairs, mats, snorkeling gear (lots of flippers), an umbrella, boogie boards (we used the latter two). We also got to enjoy the heated pool nearby. The kitchen is well stocked and we appreciated the washer and dryer, especially after a couple beach trips. Wifi was great too.
For dads and moms of little ones, I noticed: graco pack-n-play, safety 1st booster seat w/ tray, baby spoons, a baby bowl. The upstairs master bath tub is of the large type and the lower level bath has a shower; both have hand-held spray nozzles.
The location is AWESOME. We enjoyed walking to Shipwreck Beach and two lovely meals at the Grand Hyatt (note, they do not allow day use of pools during peak times). Sunset and starlit night walks are unforgettable! It was also such a quick drive to Poipu Shopping Village (Starbucks, Cafe Anuenue) and Kukui'ula Village Shopping Center ($$$ restaurants and mid-high end shopping, gourmet grocery store, big Longs Drugs). We also had a couple meals in Old Koloa Town (Pizzetta, La Spezia, nice shops). From this condo, it was easy to enjoy Baby Beach (our favorite), and Poipu Beach Park. All of these were just a few minutes easy drive away. This was our first and longest stay in Kauai (5 nights). We made a day trip out of Waimea Canyon from here; very easy, I recommend enjoying a nice breakfast before heading out, unless food trucks are must-do for you. (Our next leg we stayed in Princeville (2 nights), enjoying a stop in Lihue for lunch, a stop for Wailua Falls and a stop for Opaekaa Falls on the way.) We're very happy having done this itinerary, and mostly from this condo; we got to enjoy SO much of the south shore!
Thanks to Kay and Bill for a enjoyable stay and unforgettable family vacation!
My sister, brother-in-law and I enjoyed our stay immensely at this resort. It offered all the amenities that we needed. We were there to attend a wedding at the Hyatt and it couldn't have been more convenient. The villa was clean and very comfortable. Thank you Kay!!
First off Kay is super great to work with and very accommodating. The condo itself felt like home and had pretty much everything you could ask for. We stayed in another condo on VRBO in Florida and that had the system where you leave stuff you don't use for other guests. While we didn't have that (maybe people were not there prior to us), we left a bunch of beach towels, some floaties for toddlers and a beach ball for the little one to name a few. The location is EXCELLENT. We stayed at the Hyatt and our room was so far from the pool that the trip from this condo over to the Hyatt pool took less time. We watched beautiful sunrises and sunsets from just steps from this location. The neighbors and other guests are super quiet and I never heard a peep from anyone past 8 pm. The only thing I would comment on is that the carpet is a bit worn and may benefit from tile at some point or a deep clean. Otherwise, no complaints. Would definitely stay again if we come back next year.
The property suited our needs fine. Location is good in Poipu, close to Hyatt and beach and property is safe and quiet. Unit is well maintained but somewhat aged. weather was very hot when we were there but strong winds kept the place cool. Owners and cleaners were very cooperative and available.
This place was awesome! Everything that you would possibly need (Beachgear, spices, amenities, great location, etc) was included, which made our trip significantly more enjoyable. We had absolutely no issues with anything in the home except for the television armoire, which was a very minor problem. Great place for the $.
Felt like a great value, adjacent to the Hyatt and Wreck Beach, but for a dramatically lower price. We were there at an unusually humid time, but the place stayed cool with very good cross ventilation. Bed was very comfortable. It was a very nice touch that the place was so well stocked... shampoo, spices, cooking supplies, beach toys, boogie boards. The gas BBQ in the courtyard was kept perfectly clean (and there was surprisingly little competition for it), and the grounds were manicured.
Concrete foot/bicycle paths (lit at night) to beachs, shops, pool, tennis, BBQ, golf course, fishing, scenic look-outs.
