The beach is very private on 3/4 of an acre loaded with palm trees. You can snorkel in the backyard on coral reefs within 1000 feet of the shore. Use of kayaks, paddle boards and bicycles are included.

This three bedroom, three bath home with 4,000 square feet of living area (3,000 air conditioned) and a pool is situated on 3/4 of an acre in a private, tropical setting. Located in an upscale neighborhood on Lower Matecumbe Key in famed Islamorada, this fine estate offers you the ability to relax, entertain, and enjoy the many recreational activities found only in the Florida Keys!

Rear verandah overlooks breath-taking ocean views, palm trees and white sand beach.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Good Morning Matt and Carrie,

This is a stellar place. Perfect for everyone! I've never heard "good job mom" so many times in one night! haha The little guy is getting acquainted with his first sand and is making us laugh our heads off! Currently, Jay is out on the bike, he's a biking virgin so I'm holding my breath, two are sunbathing, one is fishing, one is out on the paddle board, and all as it should be!

I tried renting this place last year, but it was booked. It was worth the wait!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Renting a boat, maybe jet skies, sky's the limit!

Have a great day,

Oh, Jay returned from his bike ride, no incidences reported😃

A True Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

This place truly exceeded every expectation I had. I did not want to leave! I was able to reunite with a childhood/lifelong friend at this property and catch up in what may be the most peaceful vacation setting I have ever been in. His fifteen year old son had his first true offshore fishing experience when we traveled out to the world-renowned fishing grounds ("The Islamorada Humps), approximately 15 miles straight out of the back yard beach, where we caught several mahi mahi/dolphin/dorado, a couple in the 30lb. range. Needless to say, the 15 y/o boy's face lit up like a flame when we hooked into those fish and he brought them aboard the boat. Those memories will undoubtedly stay with him for life. Then, back at the house, where the ladies were blissfully relaxing in the beautiful pool, we were able to feast on the fish for days; utilizing the gas grill and the fully stocked kitchen ... we would have made any chef proud. We utilized the fire pit at nights which only added to the already relaxed, tranquil, "florida keys" atmosphere. In short, the comfort and tranquility of this home cannot be overstated. Not once, during my stay, did I find myself saying "I wish I had this (or that, or anything for that matter)." Just see for yourself ... go there and you will want for nothing (other than to stay there forever). I would challenge anyone to go spend some time there and argue otherwise. I don't believe anyone on earth would argue that this place is anything but sheer class!

Great Beach Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was a large, comfortable, nicely decorated, fun place to be right on the ocean. The huge deck overlooking the ocean was our favorite place to be. It was always in the shade with plenty of room to visit, grill, read and watch the ocean. We played lawn games on the large sandy back yard, kayaked and enjoyed watching eagles, ospreys and even saw a crocodile. We had a nice bonfire one night and looked at the stars every night. The outdoor shower was great after being in the ocean. We had s wonderful week.

Best Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family was there March 2015 and we loved the private beach. Prior to arriving we had planned to leave the property and visit other towns/beaches but we NEVER left the property during the day. This house has everything you need! Kayaks, chairs, fire pit, pack n play, hammock, bikes, board games, etc. We took turns exploring on the SUP/Kayaks - saw nurse sharks and other small fish right off the beach. One day, when it was the lowest tide we had all week, we walked out nearly 50yds to the water. The beach is grassy, so def bring water shoes. The sunrises are amazing and the views are just spectacular. We are looking to book our 2016 trip now and having sincere trouble finding anything remotely like this house. We LOVED it! Restaurants to visit: Mangrove Mikes, Robbies, and Lorelei's (most gorgeous sunsets).

Excellent Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Just like the description states..."ocean front retreat with overwhelming views of the Atlantic"! Perfect location. Private beach! Close to Lazy Days, Lorelei, Islamorada Fish Company, Robbies, the Trading Post for groceries, and Bud and Mary's Marina.

We traveled with our 2 adult kids, their spouses, and our 15 month old grandson. The furniture, both inside and on the veranda, was very nice and comfortable. Great for lounging, reading, or taking a catnap. The huge doors that open from the living room to the veranda let the breeze through. Just beautiful! The house has 2 fantastic kayaks, 2 great bikes, and several beach towels. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we used it a lot. The laundry room is right off the dining room so it is convenient. There are 3 comfortable king beds. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom so it is as if there are 3 masters that all face the ocean. Easy for all to take some quiet time alone. Very peaceful house. We never ran out of hot water, and had no problems with anything. We tried to get this house last year, but it was booked. It was truly worth the wait! We had a blast here! Would definately recommend this house. It offers family style, yet peace and serenity for all. Thank you so very much! Jay and Gayle and Family

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long awaited week in this house with our children and grandchildren ( 6 adults and 3 children, ages 2,6, and 9). It is a beautiful, well stocked house with a private sandy beach. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling right off the beach. Being in the middle keys it was easy to explore all the keys north and south of the house. Key West was interesting but much too crowded for us. Islamorada is laid back with many good restaurants and shops. The owners are very accommodating and easy to work with. We couldn't have asked for anything more and would like to go back someday. Good memories!!

First time in the Keys...Great Place

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to the Florida Keys. We decided to rent a home to get away from the crowds and tourist trap places. This home was perfect for our needs. We felt like we were on our own island paradise with palm trees blowing in the winds and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. My three children (15 - 25) enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards and saw lobster and some fish while about 200 yards or so out. The house itself is extremely nice with all the furnishings you need. We watched the NBA championship game and grilled out one night and sat on the private sandy beach with a full moon shining across the water. My children said it was one of the best vacations they can remember and we have been to some pretty nice locations. There are many nice restaurants within driving distance. We decided to branch out and found a couple of places on Marathon that were both on the water side and very good quality. You are right in the middle of the Keys and can take a short trip to either Key Largo or Key West if you want. You are also within a few minutes drive to some of the best diving and snorkeling spots around the Keys. We will always remember our vacation to Islamorada. My oldest wants to come back next year.
