About Ted O'Neil
Tim & Ted O'Neil have been providing guests great places to stay in Harbor Country, MI for over 15 years. They have specialized in venues where large groups can get together.
Ted O'Neil purchased this Lodge in 2003
Why Ted O'Neil chose Grand Beach
We purchased this property as a venue where families can all vacation under one roof, for grandparents to have an anniversary weekend, for groups of couples to have special weekends, for companies to get away from the grind to brain storm and for churches to hold retreats.
What makes this Lodge unique
The Grand Beach Inn is an early 1900's inn that has a lot of charm but with many bedrooms and bathrooms to facilitate large groups. With multiple family rooms, sitting areas, a large dining room and great outdoor space with a pool, the grand Beach Inn gives groups have plenty of space to be together or in smaller groups.

Great place to stay
Our group enjoyed our stay at the Grand Beach Inn. Our struggle we faced was having network connection issues.
The grounds are nice, but the inside of the place is old. They claim to have jetted tubs, but as soon as you get there, you are told not to use them. They don't work correctly. We also had a terrible problem with wasps near the pool and in the room where my grandkids were sleeping. They sent someone right away, but we still had several people in our group that were stung. On the plus side, the kitchen was nicely appointed and even had a nice big ice maker. The dining room accommodated our group of 30 easily. If you are looking to walk to Lake Michigan, I would not recommend it for older people.
Really great space for our large group
Our group of 38 - 20 adults and 18 kids (all under 5) - had a great winter weekend at Grand Beach Inn. They layout was perfect for our purposes: the bedrooms are on one side of the house and the dining room/living room/sun room (i.e., what we made into a huge play area for the weekend) on the other. Each "room" is really a suite composed of two connected rooms with a bathroom in the middle, making it ideal for adults with kids. Everything was very clean upon arrival, the check in process was a cinch, management was very easy to work with, and the photos accurately convey the inn's campy feel. All in all a very good experience. Our group is already discussing going back in the spring.
