Relaxing and Quiet
We had an outstanding stay at the Mazama cabin, it was very relaxing and they had everything you need to have a great stay! Check-in was easy, place was exceptionally clean and the whole experience was very easy! Highly recommend staying here, great base camp for hikes all over the area!
Very comfortable "cabin" away from the highway
We are no strangers to the Winthrop/Mazama area, making at least three trips per year. However, this is the first time that we stayed at this wonderful cabin.
My wife, her brother, and I spent three enjoyable nights here. It's located far enough off of Highway 20 to minimize road noise and it's situated at the foot of a gradually upsloping forest. The sleeping areas were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped with dishes and utensils. We enjoyed the nice deck as well. There was a generous supply of reference materials for the surrounding area which was helpful. It is located much closer to Mazama than it is to Winthrop which suited our plans very well. Aside from a burned out light bulb and a problem with the kitchen exhaust fan, everything worked well.
We hiked up to the Goat Peak lookout (a great hike but a little steep and had snow patches), hiked along Wolf Creek, and thoroughly enjoyed the Mazama store. A stop at the glass blowing store in Winthrop was another highlight.
We would certainly consider staying here again and I can recommend it.
