About Jay and Jen Ware

Our family has a very special place in our hearts for this house. We love to ski and snowshoe here in the winter and hike and bike in the summer. Georgetown makes us feel like we have stepped into a much simpler world. Time moves slower and families spend more time just enjoying time together.

Jen is a retired Army officer. She spent 2010 in Afghanistan and when she got home, one of the first places she wanted to go was to this house. Jay is a general contractor focusing on home remodeling. Much of the bottom level of house has been remodeled by Jay. He is always working on something whenever he comes to the house to make each stay even better for guests. We are excited for a major bathroom remodel coming Spring of 2016. It is a very special place, and we hope you and your family and friends will enjoy it as much as we do.

Jay and Jen Ware purchased this house in 2007

Why Jay and Jen Ware chose Georgetown

Jen grew up coming to Georgetown. Her family friends owned a house here, and still do. She has decades of fond memories of this wonderful town. Our kids grew up coming to this house. They love the bunk room especially ! The people of Georgetown are so friendly and kind. We love visiting the shop owners and residents when we walk around town. Georgetown is unique as we feel totally comfortable allowing the kids to walk downtown alone to get a treat. The location of this house is perfect. It is just a 3 minute walk to downtown, so you get the best of both worlds. You get jaw dropping vistas of Rocky Mountain scenery from the front and back of our house and the convenience of being very close to the historic downtown shops and restaraunts. We are a five minute walk (walking under Devil's Gate Bridge on the way) to the Georgetown Loop railroad depot. Awesome hiking opportunities starting right from the house. There are quite a few amazing homes in Georgetown. We are thankful to own one of the very special ones.

What makes this house unique

We love being so close to the creek, the Georgetown Loop railroad, amazing skiing, hiking, snow shoeing, river rafting, zip lines, and the beautiful, historic town of Georgetown and it's wonderful people. The front porch is the perfect place to take in all of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains while snacking on some wine and cheese and experiencing the company of friends and family. The kids bunk room is a cool place for the kids to have their own private hangout. The kitchen is well stocked and ready for you to whip up a meal for you and your hungry travelers. Loop's End is such a unique place that you, your family, friends and co-travelers will all agree that you have picked the perfect place to stay. We have hosted some really fantastic groups at our home. Our home has hosted reunions, wedding parties, ski trips, vacations, hill climbers, international trecking groups, international travelers and people just wanting to come up to the beautiful Colorado mountains, relax and take in some of the best nature has to offer. We often have guests check in and immediately send us a text or email about how happy they are with the home and how pleased they are that everything is "as advertised" on the site. We take communication with our guests seriously. Don't be surprised when you send an inquiry and get a response back right away as if you were texting us because, actually, that is usually what is happening. We try to drop everything and get back to you ASAP because we know you are busy and it's frustrating to get excited about a place only to find out you are shouting down an empty well. We think our home is pretty awesome and we're pretty sure you and your group will too!

This was the perfect house for our extended family vacation. We loved every aspect of our stay. Jay and Jennifer made the house so welcoming for us. There was plenty of room for all of us to just hang out and not get in each others way. I would highly recommend this beautiful home for others considering to stay here. Perfect in every way!

Great house for a weekend away

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this house. It was perfect for our weekend away with family and friends. The bunk bed room was a hit with the kids. They all walked in wide eyed at the prospect of all sleeping in the same room.

The house was very clean and all the extra personal touches made it very special.

On our last day, when we got in the car to leave, my kids asked, "When are we coming back?!?" It was obviously a hit all around.

Great house for our weekend away!

Fantastic Bonding Time

  • 5 of 5

This home was so cozy. We had 14 people including 7 children. When we first got to the home, I was concerned it was to small for the amount of people we had. Now I will say, it was perfect. The kids had there own play room with lots of provided games. It was right off the main room so we could keep an eye on them and also have our adult time. It was great. The deer all around the home was amazing. They came right up in the yard, the kids were able to see them up close. We had our Thanksgiving meal which turned out perfect. The kitchen is very well supplied with everything we needed. My son and the wedding party all come down to eat and it was a great atmosphere that everyone enjoyed. The town was closee by and we did lots of shopping, and road the train, which the kids loved. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us on our special occasion.

This amazing Victorian house, hidden among the trees and against a beautiful hill, was the absolutely perfect setting for the reunion of three couples (to celebrate the guys 70th birthdays). We came from TX, SD, and CO. Fabulous job done with designing the incredible bathroom upstairs. Very clean kitchen, well stocked, with everything needed to get right to cooking (including staples, coffee and CHOCOLATES!). The bunk house room was a huge surprise. Such a wonderful room for a group to crash after their daytime activities (hint: skiing and hiking). We walked to the Loop RR, went shopping and ate meals at the restaurants downtown. We felt right at home relaxing by the blazing fireplace, playing board games and talking until turning in for the night (temperpedic mattress in every bedroom!). Hated to leave....but you can be sure...we mostly definitely will be back. Thank you for a most memorable time. ~D & D

Fantastic find

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience at this location. The accommodations suited our group perfectly. The kids loved the bunk room. All 10 of us were able to have our meals together at the large dining room table. We also had lunch on the back patio one afternoon. The renovated upstairs bathroom was a huge hit with the tweens/teens in our group. The owners were always responsive and easy to work with. The house has an amazing front porch. The adults and kids alike loved the character of this old house. We have stayed at many VRBO properties but the kitchen in this property was by far the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen. Not only was the pantry well stocked with condiments and spices but there were also plenty of appliances (waffle maker, blender, bread maker) available . There were many books and games available too. Our group stayed at this house for a weekend but it could very easily serve as a base for a much longer stay. The onsite washer and dryer is a great bonus too. Overall we would highly recommend this home.
