The ranch is located in southern Mason County in the Hill Country, outside of the historic small towns of Mason and Fredericksburg. The James River runs through the middle of the property. In the winter the outdoor fireplace will keep you toasty warm. We are only a few hundred yards away from the Eckert Bat Cave one of the true wonders of the Texas Hill Country.
This is an actively managed wildlife ranch. We seldom mow the main field that surrounds the skeet range as it abounds in wildflowers and is a sanctuary for horn toads and small ground birds. So bring apprioriate footwear and clothing.
Watch the sunset from the 10' wide 360 degree wrap around porch or one of the private picnic tables overlooking the river.
There is a nice pavillion that is great to hold an outdoor classroom and our WI-FI is believe are not high speed fiber!
There is a full skeet range with a high and low houses equipped to throw clay targets. Plus a full rifle range out to 700 yards. We also have a small bermed pistol range.
The James River has several small pools were bass and perch can be caught and released.
Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country the place is just across the James River from the Nature Conservacy's Eckert Bat Cave. The gate is a waist high rock with a cattle gate painted like a Texas Flag. The gate is locate about 100 feet past the rock corral going away from the river on the south side away from Mason. The property is about 50 minutes outside of Fredricksberg and 20 minutes outside of Mason.

We live in the Hill Country on Lake Travis and in Kerrville and love going out to our ranch. We hope your family and freinds will enjoy the Ranch as much as our family has for many years.

This property has been in the family for nearly 40 years. The lodge was built for family reunions and family enjoyment in 2003. It is very nice for quite weekends, family/friends get together, corporate retreats, training events when you want to do your own thing and not be bothered by anyone.
The 'Goodnight Loving' spring flows at over 400 gallons a minute has cut a chute through the limestone for some 100 yards and makes the perfect place to cool down in the summer even on the hottest of days. Picnic benches over look the James River the perfect place to watch the sunset and Texas stars like no other place. Full Skeet Range
In the summer time it is a one minute drive to the Eckert Bat Cave to watch the nightly emergence.
Just a two minute drive puts you in Salt Branch were 'Old Yeller' fought the herd of hogs in Fred Gipsons 'Old yeller'
There is virtually no light pollution and the stars are spectacular on a clear night down at the river.
We went out here for a slew of friends birthdays to get away, and get away we did. The house is super remote and away from everything, so be prepared for that, but that is part of the reason we chose it! The property owners we super attentive and nice, had everything ready to go for us. Skeet range was a real hit for everyone and it wasn't a bad place to go exploring and check out the wildlife. We will definitely be looking to book this place again in the future!
We were very excited to get out of town and really enjoy some hill country air. The weather was amazing and we took every opportunity we had to be outside. The scenery was breathtaking and the stars at night are fantastic. The size of the house was the perfect for us. However, I was a little disappointed when we got here. We couldn't find the 700-yard range (you have to cross the river to get to it, not easy when you have to carry everything in). In addition, there wasn't a true berm to speak of on the rifle range which made it unsafe to use. If we had known or seen what the rifle range looked like we would have left the rifles at home. The toilet paper holder was about to fall off the wall in the guest bathroom. The trashcan was full in the master bathroom and from what I remember about the rules they asked us not to flush toilet paper, so that really grossed me out. I loved the master bath because it was a gothic tube but I was also grossed out that it was stained heavily on the inside and the shower head was heavily corroded. Additionally, the foosball table had a very very wobbly leg, two of the handles had nails sticking out (which cut one of our friends) so we wrapped it with tape to prevent anyone else from getting cut. The pool table rack was broken and the wall mount for the pool sticks was about to fall off the wall as well. If I could I would have gone threw out the house and fixed everything I found that bugged me but I want to put it out there that we still love this place. We all had a great time with our friends and I would love to come back in the future.
This was our third trip to the ranch and it never disappoints!
This place is truly an oasis in the Texas Hill Country. I couldn't have asked for a better place to host a bachelor party. Perfect location for a weekend getaway with the guys. Beautiful property, beautiful house, gun ranges. I highly recommend this place!
Remote location that lets you get away from the city or just stress of life. Amazing hill country views, wildlife and stars. Home is very comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for. Plenty of room to roam and adventure on the property and the skeet shooting facility is top notch. Great stay and hoping to host another group here again.
Myself and 7 friends had a bachelor party here. It consisted of having a few beers, shooting skeet, shooting pistols, shooting rifles, having a few more beers, and playing a few board games at night. This place was phenomenal. The scenery was gorgeous and the ability to just roam around in the country brought back memories from when I was a child. The stars at night were big and bright (sorry). But seriously, you cant see the stars like that in the city. Overall, fantastic vacation, and every single one of us loved it and we are already trying to figure out when we can go back. Thanks to everybody at Bar None Ranch and we appreciate your hospitality.
