The house has been renovated, end 2014, with modern comforts. It retains the feel of an old Japanese-styled home with a screened doorway entrance, old timber rafters and a tatami room. It is updated with all the electrical trimmings and extras, like heated flooring in the living area, and full air conditioning. To make sure you stay internet connected while you enjoy the city, mobile wifi is also available!
This is a 2-Storey dwelling with 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 comfortably. The living and dining areas merge into quite a spacious ground floor by Japanese standards. Kitchen is fully equipped with all you need for light cooking, including a toaster, kettle, microwave oven and refrigerator. You also have the ease of a clothes washing machine and dryer.
Getting around is very convenient. You only need to walk about 4 mins to Tofukuji Station, then take the train to get anywhere, like Kyoto station and all the citys attractions. Also within walking distance are Tofukuji Temple, Sanjusangendo, convenience stores and other amenities, including supermarkets, restaurants, traditional dessert shops, bakeries, launderette, Hospital (English speaking doctors available) and some really old and colourful shops that sell toys and things from the past. A neighbour even runs a caf just 2 doors away!
