Welcome to Atlanta! We would love to host you in our award-winning designer home, located on a quiet street in historic Druid Hills, a community designed by famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead. It's a perfect place to call a home away from home.
The home has 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, all fully furnished. It also features a lovely foyer, formal living room, separate dining room, and a fabulous kitchen and family room with 9-foot ceilings.
The whole space has been redesigned and decorated by a veteran artist and designer. The kitchen in particular has been fitted with Italian tile floors, large granite counter tops and breakfast bar, stone backsplash, and high quality appliances. Part of the kitchen serves as a social area, with a wood-burning fireplace, and a sliding glass door that opens up to a deck with a nice view of the back yard and forest beyond. The dining and living areas, and bedrooms have hardwood floors, and the entire house is decorated with an impressive collection of artwork and house plants that gives it an eclectic and warm feeling. The spacious outdoor areas have several options for seating, and are professionally landscaped for added privacy.
The perks of this home is not just in the home itself, but also its location. It is located minutes away from the CDC, Emory and downtown conference centers, as well as attractions like the Fernbank and High Museums, the Fox Theater, and the Georgia Dome, among many others.
Feel free to contact us if you are interested in staying at the home, or would like to know more about the area. We can be reached on the site, or by calling Barbara Tilley at 678-974-7153.
Cheers, and happy travels!
This is the second time that we've stayed in this home and we've been very happy on both occasions. The house is neat, well furnished, well decorated and has all the standard amenities that you would expect in a vacation rental home. The owner is very nice and super helpful.
Perfect home for 8 people for our wedding week!!! Owner went to great lengths to make sure we had everything we needed to host a dinner party for 25 people. She even put fresh flowers in the living room. Spectacular art work throughout the home. Kitchen fully stocked with plenty of cookware and serving dishes. Three full sets of dishes and utensils helped us feed many family members. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen recently remodeled and impeccably clean. Would return to this home again and again.
We loved our stay. We were a group of seven mostly retired high school friends from across the country who get together annually for a "girls weekend". We are all professional women with strong opinions. The house was everything as advertised. From the minute we entered for the first time and found the fully set dining room table to the fresh flowers on the kitchen granite counter, we felt very welcome. Our hosts thought of our every need. The generous, fluffy towels in the bathrooms and the linens were exceptional based on other places we have rented. We could't think of anything it lacked. The art work on the walls was an added bonus. The house is perfect for walking In the parks and for visiting attractions. We highly recommend it.
We have stayed here twice as a family while visiting our son at Emory. The location is excellent: on a quiet street not too far from Emory, Decatur, and a most enjoyable walk in the Deepdene Park. We most recently used this beautiful home to celebrate graduation with two family dinners. The large kitchen, with all the cooking tools and plates allowed us a gracious place that was preferable to a loud restaurant. The art-filled home is beautiful and we felt very special in being able to stay there. The owner is most gracious and was very supportive of our family. We will stay there again.
Home was simply breathtaking! Can't wait to stay again next year!
Atlanta is home to many wonderful and exciting attractions for all vacationers, families, or executives and their various interests. What is more, our home is in the center of Intown living and all attractions are easily accessible.
Our home is located in Historic Druid Hills, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead who is infamous for designing Central Park in New York City. Because Olmstead designed the area in which our home was built, within walking distance we have many major parks which are known as the Olmstead Linear Parks. These parks are home to bike paths, fields, and beautiful landscaping. The Olmstead Linear Parks and other parks and nature preserves such as Deep Dean Park and Nature Trails and the Frazier Center 60-acre wildlife sanctuary and formal gardens are all within two blocks of the home. Atlanta is also home to many other well-known parks and nature sanctuaries like Centennial Olympic Park, Piedmont Park, Candler Park, Fernbank Science Center and Planetarium, and Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Arboretum. For any vacationers who are interested in staying in Atlanta but may want to take a vacation from their stay, Stone Mountain, which offers mountain climbing, hiking, sight-seeing, fishing, boating, and laser light shows, Lake Lanier, which offers all water sports and hobbies and also offers boat rentals, and the Chattahoochee River, which offers fishing, fly fishing, kayaking, and rafting, are all wonderful attractions that make perfect venues for day trips and are only forty-five minutes to an hour away from the home. For those that are seeking thrills, the home is located thirty minutes away from the very popular Six Flags over Georgia.
Although Atlanta is the Tree City of the South, we are also known for many other attractions other than our parks and nature sanctuaries. Atlanta is also home to many wonderful museums and entertainment venues. The High Museum of Art, Center for Puppetry Arts, Callanwolde Arts Center, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Atlanta History Center, Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museum, Atlanta Zoo, Georgia Aquarium, Turner Baseball Field, Georgia Dome, World of Coca-Cola, Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, Woodruff Arts Center, Breman Jewish History Museum, Delta Heritage Museum, Ferst Center for the Arts, Ivan Alan Junior Braves Museum and Hall of Fame, Martin Luther King Junior National Historic Site, Atlanta Capitol Building, Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, and the Museum of Design Atlanta are Atlanta’s greatest museums and site-seeing venues and are all worth seeing. Concerts, live theater, and comedy shows are also a big part of Atlanta’s entertainment and shows can be seen nightly at the Historic Fox Theater, the Alliance Theater, the Atlanta Ballet, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Opera House, the Masquerade, the Tabernacle, Center Stage, the Laughing Skull Lounge, the Buckhead Theater, 7 Stages Theater, Underground Atlanta, 14th Street Playhouse, the Relapse Comedy Theater, and many more. Atlanta is also home to wonderful galleries full of creative and inspiring Atlanta artists’ work.
Shopping during the day and eating out or going to night clubs in the evening is also a major part of Atlanta culture. For visitors who really want to experience the Atlanta day or night life, Downtown Decatur, Little Five Points, Atlantic Station, Downtown, Midtown, or Buckhead are the places to go.
Also, Emory University and the Center for Disease Control are within a quarter of a mile from the home.
For those visitors who may worry about transportation, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) bus stops and train stations are located throughout the city. The East Lake MARTA train station is the closest train station to the home and is located less than five minutes away. The closest bus stop is within one block of the home.
