Fava Residence is the vacation house i spent all my summers since i was born. A place that brings me back memories of the childhood years. During the 18th and 19th century, the village of Oia experienced the prosperity of the naval merchandise. In Finikia lived the farmers who worked in the valley and vineyards, but also the captains of Oia had their summer homes and canavas. In the early 20th century there were over 150 canavas that were left off after the war and the devastating earthquake of 1956 brought the village to abandon. Since the mid 1970's slowly and with patience, new residents began to return and to reconstruct the old houses on permanent or holiday homes. Today, Finikia is a small, well-preserved traditional village now united with Oia within just 10 minutes walking distance. You can stay and experience the feeling of tranquility and authenticity, visiting the beautiful beaches and vineyards in the vicinity of the village.
