About Ken & Mary Beth
Ken McWilliams and Mary Beth Chalk enjoy meeting new people, traveling, learning about new cultures, creating memories, cooking and entertaining. Ken owns a custom window covering business and is the second owner of the Maison Pemberton property. Mary Beth is a healthcare innovation consultant with over 2M airline miles and degrees in marketing and interior design. Maison Pemberton is the result of their combined abilities and shared interests. Their photo was taken in Cortona, one of their favorite hillside villages.
Ken & Mary Beth purchased this Apartment in 1996
Why Ken & Mary Beth chose Pemberton Heights
As long-time neighbors, Ken would often have 'across the hedge' conversations with members of the Roberdeau family. In 1996, during one of the 'hedge conversations' Ken learned that Carol had plans to sell the house that they had built in 1937 and in which they had raised their family. At the time, Ken was in the real estate business in Austin and saw an opportunity to purchase the property next door for use as a rental property. Prior to its renovation in 2014-2015 Maison Pemberton had been a long-term, duplex rental property.

Fantastic/ beautiful /convenient
We met our friends from Canada here and took them to a Longhorn football game!
The home was perfectly stocked with quality everything. Warm and welcoming host. Beautiful neighborhood. We can’t wait to return!
Very cozy and elegant, we enjoyed our stay tremendously
Luxury, style, comfort, hospitality and location . . . it has it all!
The owner has thought of every detail to make your stay in the Garden View suite of Maison Pemberton comfortable and enjoyable. She is incredibly helpful and welcoming, and did an amazing job of filling the property with fun, beautiful, style and luxury. The street is full of beautiful homes, and is centrally located making it easy to get to the restaurants and nightlife downtown. You can even enjoy a nice walk through the park and along the Shoal Creek trail all the way to Lady Bird Lake if the weather is nice. I highly recommend this incredible property for anyone looking for a fun relaxing weekend exploring all that Austin has to offer!
Best in Austin
home in fabulous neighborhood!! Easy to get to everything. Hosts are thoughtful and even left chocolates. Great place to call home in Austin
You Gotta Stay Here
This house is in a great location close to everything and is a wonderful neighborhood that was started in the 1920s. If you don't end up staying here you owe it to yourself to at least drive around the neighborhood. Every house is a different style and not a blade of grass is out of place anywhere.
The owners were great hosts and everything about the unit was great. Beds are super comfortable.
The best and easiest VRBO I’ve done!
If you are going to Austin and need a quiet, beautiful place that is close to the good stuff then this is the place. It was perfect for us and our son to visit UT.
Maison Pemberton was built in 1937 in the historic neighborhood of Pemberton Heights in Old West Austin. The neighborhood is characterized by shady trees, beautiful gardens, proximity to major event venues, photographic holiday decorations, and charming neighborhood traditions such as decorated golf carts at Halloween and the horse-drawn carriage rides in December. Neighborhood walks are a wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon. Two bicycles are available for riding through our historic neighborhood and getting around town to the various venues.
Some of Austin's finest restaurants are less than 10-minutes away and no more then 15-minutes away from Central Market, one of the best foodie grocery stores in the US.
